Sounds like my truck gun. Early 70's Winchester 30-30. Pics from when I bought it last New Year's:

Since then it's gotten sling swivels and a paracord sling to go with them.

Does your 30-30 look like it has some screws to put a different rear peep on the side. I tried looking for some kind of scope mount but never had any luck. It looks like it would fit some kind of mount. I'll have to dig out my 70's model marlin.

I didnt care for the factory grips...I love the finger groove grips. Check them out..

The pics make mine look better than it is; the receiver on mine is pretty well bluing-free. The barrel and mag and lever are in good shape, though.
I've thought about having it cerakoted since it's riding around in the truck all the time, but so far it hasn't developed any rusty spots even with just a regular six month clean-and-oil schedule.

Nope. Just the standard set in the receiver, no extras.
My 1902 has a range-adjustable peep mounted on the grip behind the receiver, though. Factory original, and standard turn-of-the-century optimism. It's marked out to 800 yards, if I remember correctly. With a .32 Special

Yeah, reverse feeds from the 13 round mag to the 5 round cylinder. Gets more penetration that way.

I've headed that too! But I hear it's because it cycles more reliable. ... Less jamming more bang bang
