So I am going to be replacing my exhaust with the LCEPerfomance exhaust. I have been having a loud rattle in Reverse only and have found the problem. It is a mounting bracket. Now I see that I probably could save myself $450 by just leaving my exhaust the way it is but I want to eventually do this so, why not now, right. I just feel like this hanger was necessary but in the kit it doesn't come with that hanger, Do I really need this hanger. Its the hanger right behind the cat I believe, I'm no mechanic, but this is why I want to do the work myself.

I've been running without that hanger since I replaced my cat 2 years ago. You should find one or make something, my exhaust pipe is starting to sag right there. I'm gonna have to replace that gasket and rig something up. No exhaust leak yet, but it's only a matter of time.

So the exhaust pipe is rattling on the exhaust hanger? Meaning that it broke loose from the pipe?

Yes I just solved the rattling problem I just pulled the hanger itself off of both the Rubber gaskets. kept all the parts though. I am wondering if I can just squeeze something in between that and the pipe. Any ideas on what can withstand that kinda heat.

It would be real cheap to have someone weld it to the pipe.

That is what I would do. Any exhaust shop would happily weld that back on for you.

Doesn't even have to be an exhaust shop.

Op. Just get a buddy with a welder to go at it.

I was suggesting a more common way of repairing it as some people don't have a buddy with a welder.

Shoulda split that into 2 posts. I meant it could be any garage not just an exhaust shop which can be harder to find. Ive never even seen an exhaust shop before...

True. He is in California, which is the custom car capital. He should have no problem getting this fixed. Here is Texas you can look in the phone book or online for exhaust shops and they are plentiful.
