Wanted to say hi to everyone here, been reading this forum for the last month and theirs a lot of great information. Wanted my first post to have a picture of a tacoma I just bought but after almost two month my dealer have no luck locating a dcsb at off-road. So I'm wondering should I just get a limited model. But can't seem to get the info I'm looking for, can the limited do almost everything the off-road can? Do it come with rear locker, crawl control, mts, and all the other stuff that come standard on the off-road.
Thanks for any information and input.

Ps. Forgot to say I'm only going through one dealer cause the GM quote me $500 over invoice and every other dealer 400 mile radius of me wouldn't go past 500 below msrp.

Welcome to TW. The trd off road is the only model that comes with the locker, crawl control and mts.

If you plan on doing serious off roading those features will come in handy. But the occasional off roading just regular 4wd should be fine.

Add to what Johnny919 said, the off road has a different suspension. If you are just a casual off roader, the limited may be just fine, if you are looking for something to go off roading every weekend, you may want the OR.

I went off road, just like the features better, but that's what best suits me.

Also, you said your dealer has been having no luck locating an off road model...if that is the model you really want i would wait for it. It's a pretty popular model so your dealer should be able to locate one eventually.

I always see people who rush into the whole thing and just buy whatever they can get their hands on. It's a vehicle you are going to have for a while make sure it's the right choice.

I would personally rather pay extra money to make sure i get the truck i want, with or without the options i want, but that's me. Good luck.

Thank you so much for the information. Guess i'll just wait for the off-road, since I hunt a lot and California high mountain road are a lot easier with the locker.

OP something else to keep in mind. The limited is more of a luxury version of the Tacoma. I don't know what you plan on doing with the truck but I will be hunting, hauling construction material, some off-roading, and driving in the snow. Good luck

You will need to wait to get an OR or you can go pay more somewhere else. Take that GM's offer to another dealer and ask them to match it.

These aren't easy to find. It took me 3 months to find ours and then we had to wait another month for it to be built and arrive at the dealership. DCSB is easier to find than the DCLB OR we bought

I bought the offroad. I ordered what i wanted and just sat down and waited. This truck is far too expensive to not get the truck you really want. Settling for less than you want is a foolish mistake.
