The Waiting Game...Who's playing?

I ordered a DCORLB 7568, magnetic gray Dec 16th, the dealer called last Wednesday and gave me a build date of April 28th, yeaaa. Weird how long it takes though.

 

Oddly enough I was in no rush for my truck to arrive which is why it delivered so fast. I put the order in and because I wasn't in a rush never asked for the build date immediately after placing the order. I just assumed by what I have seen here that I would have a at least a 90 day wait which I was fine with since I am at the tail end of my current lease and didn't put that into the deal and was good if the truck arrived later so I wasn;t carrying two car payments very long. I ordered the beginning of February and I just sent my salesman a text the beginning of March out of curiosity to see if they had given them a build date yet. His reply text was, I hope your excited because the truck will likely be here before the end of the month. Funny thing is when I was signing the paperwork on Friday to take the truck home I was joking with everyone saying "You guys couldn't prolong it's arrival longer. lol. " Everyone's response was "You the only customer who has ordered a vehicle and wasn't regularly calling and complaining that the vehicle was not coming soon enough." I also come from the train of thought that it's easier to be patient and negotiate a better deal if your not in an immediate need for a new vehicle. I just misjudged how long it would take a custom order to arrive but I was basing my estimates off of this thread. I guess my configuration wasn't too far out to be built when I placed my order.

 

I have heard through several people on here saying that the dclb trucks are only made a few days out of the month. Seems to make sense since most people are stating similar build dates.

 

I just checked my order and it, yet again, moved back another day. I have went from a production date of 4/4 - 4/7 over the past three weeks.

 

Send me a VIN and I can verify ;-)

 

Would it be a terrible thing if I were to order trucks twice from two dealers and see which one can get me one first?

 

Are they making you put money down? Either way these trucks sell fast. It's not like you're ordering something that's gonna sit there.

 

How do you have access to that info?

 

Ordered my truck on January 15th, took delivery on March 18th. SR, Access Cab, 2.7l 4 cyl., M/T. black. Ordered it with the black alloy rims, which look really nice on it. Have just under 1k miles in just over a week and have no complaints. The dealer and I ended up coming to a very fair resolution over my severely rust damaged frame in my 2004, so this all ended well.

 

I just got notified that my truck was built a day early (last Thursday instead of Friday). Yay!

 

Was told my truck was delivered today! I've been waiting since October 17th.... They are checking the oil level and u-joints tomorrow and then she shall be mine!

 

I work for Toyota ;-) and also waiting on a DCLB, and I am now back the 4/6 when I checked today lol

 

Was it a Off Road , 4x4 or Sport ?

 

Waiting game is over. Ordered 1/11 and picked up today 3/28.

 

Riddle me this gentlemen...6 weeks ago I put 500 down on a '16 ORDCLB 4x4 white with basic jbl moonroof package. After 5 1/2 weeks I called the dealer to inquire. Mysteriously he told me the next day that the special order came back denied and I couldn't order the truck in that configuration. That I had to upgrade to the full jbl/moonroof package in order for it to. Go through. Something about the configuration codes they put in didn't allow it to be built that way....I smell bullshit, but what can I do?

 

He was nice enough to check mine for me. If the salesman (the guy actually making money on this) could be as good as our fellow TW members this would be a much less painful process.

 

Not sure what the dealership was pulling, but it's my understanding that JBL is only available with the premium & technology package (which includes the moonroof). So there would never be 2 different versions to start with. Could be wrong though?

 

How far out from the build date do the dealers get the vin number?

 

tell them since they waited so long to update you of this that they can eat the difference between the non jbl to the jbl model or your walking.
