I think they do well in all terrains instead of excelling at one type of terrain. I guess every tire has its trade offs. I wish that I had the space for two sets of wheels and tires.

What's going on here? You deleting a center/offset muffler with a straight section of pipe?
Edit, nvm I see you're making extensions and flaring them to install the muffler

Flowmaster delete.... I'm removing my FM and replacing with straight pipe... The small 4 inch coupler I have to make from a section of tubing I cut off... I stretched the long section to fit up to the front half of the exhaust and I made the coupling to fit the rear section.. Exhaust systems Hawaii used 2 inch pipe for the rear section, the stock pipe is 2.25" OD and my straight section is 2.375" ID... I didn't need to stretch it to fit, I stretched to allow angling the pipe

Haha put it down for the moment... Didn't finish... Out doing Easter with the fams... I'll finish later but its super loud dumped after the cats... I'm hoping it quiets back down a bit once I get the rear section welded up but it does sound good... Almost subaru-boxer-engine-with-unequal-length-header-rumble-ish

Also, dick cepek, nitto, and I think the coopers are also offered in 295s for 17s if you want a true 33 and don't want to go 35s. Just throwing that out there...
I don't think you can go wrong with MTRs. I as watching an interview where the goodyear rep was explaining the technology behind the tire. The center tread, where the pattern is tighter, is there to prevent the mud from packing all the way across the tire. Its supposed to break it up in the middle, so the mud has less suction to the tire and can be flung out easier. Also, the Kevlar sidewalls extend from the sidewall to under the outer lug of the tread. That way, when aired down and spinning, the tread is supposed to flex at different rates, helping to get the mud out. Pretty neat.

I think my mickey thompson mtzs were better in the mud than my mtrs, the mtzs also come in 33x12.5x17 and were cheaper than the 285/70/17s for some reason.

I did the whole two sets of wheels/tires thing for a while. It gets really old, really fast.

If o remember he said they are a little slippery on the hard pack mud because of that center section. But as the mud loosens up the tire grabs nice.
