The main thing that would make me buy Mtrs is that they look badass. Actually, no MT tire is perfect. But I would definitely pick a MT over an all terrain.

MT/RK's are the best tires I've ever run, as long as you're not running them in the mud

they're not really "mud" terrains as much as "multi" terrains

mud stuff, KM2's cant be beat

    IMHO

Brings back memories of some of my old cars. '87 RX7 13b NA 6 port, from the header I had no cats or resonators, just 2.5" all the way back to a 3" HKS Super Dragger. That was one loud and obnoxious car, and shooting fireballs was fun too. Maybe I'm getting old, but I don't think I could deal with that again.

If it was just me driving the truck, I'd have to agree. I don't trust my wife to slow down in the rain with Mts..
But since it doesn't snow here, the only real safety issue is wet weather traction. With ABS and traction control on trucks now days, running a MT seems more practical. AT will definitely have better ride and Mpg, though.

I thought the turbo would muffle a lot more noise. ?.
But me too, i enjoy the intake sound over a loud exhaust. Ie: supercharger both centrifugal and twin screw, dual 44's on my old corolla with a raunchy cam. The ram air intake growl from my RC51.....

    KM2s are awesome
just the tread is kinda iffy on wet pavement, if your rig is a DD

    at least in my experience

had to throw on 4hi to get up some steep hills in the rain lol

I got my 2 weeks r&r coming up soon.

changing tires is easy with my hi-lift, just lift each side of the truck at the same time :p

Just as easy with a floor Jack to lift the front or rear at once, but not as much of a chance of dying like with a hi-lift :D

I promise after 3-4 outings you will start to rethink having a second set. It's going to be something you have to do before each trip. Breaking bolts, jacking the truck (which should be on stands), changing a 100 pound tire, and torquing is a good hour for all 4.

My KM2's were good too. I would have bought those 35's but there were no sales at the time when I was buying and they were really expensive. I have nothing bad to say about them when I had them in 265's and 285's.

They are good tires. The best tires I have used in Hilo on my Samurai would have to be MTZ's. I had TSL SX Swampers on it too that were really good but I know that wouldn't be going on your Tacoma. The MTZ's were really good in soft sand. I used to drive in all the way to the left in Kapoho by myself to go fish and they always did good. Really soft sand.

Hey guys if I was able to put together a local Battery group buy would anyone be interested? I just picked up another optima and think I can get a group disco. Just want to see if there's enough interest before I bring it up.

Hey Guys...I checked and it's a go. I'll start another thread for the GB later when I tonight or something as soon as I have a chance. I figured spread the aloha when I can. But, I just bought my blue top cause I wanted to get the pelfrey battery cage and that's the group size it was made for. I'll probably be getting rid of my yellow top as well. Nothing wrong with it just almost a year old. @squint0241 bought a 31M and modified the tray to fit with his stock battery bracket. Feel free to let me know if you guys have any questions. Oh yeah and you will need a core to turn in. So start searching for those old batteries if you're not ready to give up your old one.
