Forgive me for not reading all 160+ pages, as this may have been covered. I've got 255/85/R16 BFG KM2's in the garage, and 5 of the FJ SE anthracite rims (16"x7.5" 15mm offset) on the way already, will this combo fit with the stock suspension & no rubbing on my 2015 SR? I was going wait until my lift was installed, but I'm still undecided between the OME BP-51 kit (whenever it's finally released), and the Icon stage 4 w/ tubular UCA. I'd love to put my wheels on before the truck is lifted if I can. Or am I an idiot and should have just used the stock factory Baja wheels (16"x7". 30mm offset) that came on the truck? Thanks for any input.

you'll need to lift first with that tire size, regardless of rims

This is where information varies. The lift doesn't create a bigger wheel well. The tire should fit stock of it fits with a lift. The only difference is full stuff where a lift limits max vertical stuff due to spring compression or spring perch height. The front and rear areas of the wheel well do not change with a lift. Wheel offset plays a huge role on where rub occurs.

I will be installing 255/85-16 on stock suspension on OR wheel. I anticipate removal of mud flaps and maybe some fender liner manipulation. Possibly adding castor to move wheels forward. This will be required wuth a lift as well. Fully understand limitation of stock suspension with this tire and new suspension will be on its way when the right group buy starts.

Someone prove me wrong. I've seen various people with this tire size on stock suspension. Yes minor rub occurs but I will handle that when it appears.

I did not rub anything except front flaps pre lift with 255/85/16 ST MAXX on the stock steelies (16x7, +15mm OS, 4.35" BS)

    Guess I was wrong! Sorry!

Though adding a lift does add clearance at resting height because the wheel is pushed further down, and thus, is narrower at the wheel well

Thanks the replies, guys. I'll give it a shot on the stock suspension w/ the FJ wheels, and report back if I've got any issues. If OME would just release the damn BP-51 kit for the Tacoma already...

What's your plan for suspension, if you don't mind me asking?

I think I am going with a Bilstein 6112 front setup with the matched 5160 rears and Dakars. Not sure its worth it for the 5160s, might just go 5100's.

Nice. I've been eyeballing a similar set up too, except a deaver leaf pack. My local shop recommended the 5100's instead of the 5160's in the rear, saying the reservoirs were more prone to leaks or something. Definitely less expensive than the Icon stage 4 kit I like. I've never been in a truck with either set up, makes it kinda hard to know if the gucci Icon kit is worth the added expense, or if the remote res shocks make that much of a difference.

Check out 5125's. No reservoir but 2" more than 5100's. I'm really liking the ride with an AAL and 5125s. The rear is better than the front with eibachs and 5100s.

go that route for sure, the 5100's are not really long enough, that extra 2 inches will work well off road

I like the look. Left the spacers on and no rub yet.

    Lots of stuff
swapped out my worn out KM2s for some Toyo M55s. The BFGs were good and I got decent mileage out of them but wanted to try something with a bit milder tread for daily driving.

5125 shocks are just a universal 5100 that comes in different travel lengths

I can't believe it's come to this, but I think I am going to have to cut or beat the crap out of the pinch weld.

My Toyos rub bad under heavy compression the back side of fender well, on the so called pinch weld (no pic).

But also rub near the top.

Front flap removal might solve the rear rub. A little smashy smashy will obviously fix the upper fender rub issue... Unless you shim your bumps... Losing uptravel sucks tho.

I think I'll pull the plastic liner out, notch the pinch weld in 1" sections, beat those over, paint, put back plastic fender liner and then reshape it with heat gun. That will take care of most of the rubbing. I'll find a way to retain mud flaps, I have to have those to not destroy paint on my doors. Not sure what to do for the tops of the fender liners though. Maybe a little pounding, but don't want to get carried away. :)
