Hey guys I don't know how many people on TW follow golf, but I work at Monterey Peninsula Country Club as an outside service attendant, I basically help the golfers with whatever they need outside the pro shop, and we are one of the courses that are hosting the AT&T Pro Am. Tiger was supposed to play in it, but that was before the world found out about his scandal. Recently he said that he is going to take a break from golf, meaning that he won't be at the AT&T.

I'm pretty disappointed, just thought I'd share. Damnit,I've been looking forward to meeting him for about 6 months now!

I'm sure you are bummed....but it's really fuggin retarded how much of a big deal this whole thing is. The guys plays a good game of golf- but that's about it.

So the guy was dipping his wick in some chick other than his wife- It's despicable...but it happens all the time. (on a side note- His wife is a super model...Who the fuck steps out on a super model??)
It's not news worthy...and it's CERTAINLY not worth any attention almost 3 weeks later.

Totally with you guys. I think you would call it social responsibility, I mean I don't have kids but he is a huge role model, in that sense he has a sort of obligation to address the media not to mention his endorsements. But he is human and this stuff happens all the time like you say...

I don't think he's helping himself by remaining quiet. He should get back on the tour and start getting this behind him. Otherwise, the media is gonna keep basting him in scandal sauce.

He likes a little leg on the side - it's not like he's a murderer or a spouse/child abuser.

Yes, his moral compass is off, but I'm still a fan and the sport needs him.

Never put your hope in anyone but yourself... Doing otherwise will set you up for disappointment....

As I always say, "Expectation is the mother of all disappointment"....

I think what really bothers alot of people is how arrogant he is and how right up until he got busted he made himself out to be a "family man". I don't see how the hell he thought he was going to get away with any of this when so many women were involved. Just because he can hit a ball into a hole better than everyone else doesn't make it right. I have absolutely no respect for him. It might be different if it was just one affair, but dammm...

I've never played golf, but I was always under the impression they had ball cleaning stations right there on the coarse...maybe Tiger had trouble finding them. :notsure:

It's a shame you are missing the opportunity to meet an athlete whose name could rightfully be used in the same sentence as Babe Ruth, Michael Jordan, and Wayne Gretzky.

I could personally care less if he's a cheater or not. That's between his wife and him. To be honest, I'll bet she knew and tolerated all along. She just got pissed because he got caught by the media.

Totally agree, nice quote too. I don't see why celebrities, athletes or anyone else should be treated any different, they are all people, some good, some bad. Either way they deserve the same privacy as anyone else. To look up to someone for what that have accomplished is fine, but to idolize the man is just silly. Do people actually read and believe the tabloids anyway? I honestly don't know how some reporters sleep at night. I guess with the help of drugs and alcohol.

So, as long as someone is good at a certain sport it doesn't matter what they do or how they act? Judging a person for their accomplishments is all good, but how they acted and treated other's is also an important part of judging one's journey through life. Looking back at the recent interviews he had holding his baby alongside his wife and lying through his teeth saying how family comes first really shows just what he's all about. Cheating may be just between him and his wife, but don't go on national television and come off as someone who values family! He brought this all on himself... I hope it was worth it!

In general, I agree with you. Most pro athletes are overpaid, spoiled brats. Tiger Woods is different though. He is the best ever. A league all his own by a mile.
