I guess you just need to decide how bad you want them. Sleep on the decision. If they are there tomorrow, then make up your mind.

They aren't aimed right to be fogs, they'll just add to the haze. They need to be lower and aimed sort of low too.

I don't think that number is reflective of the current market imo. There are other, and better (again imo) options for cheaper. Not to mention, are these coming off a wrecked truck? No clue on the spring weight? Are they bent? Do they need to be rebuilt? All those factors would weigh in for me, again 2-300 is where I would go. If they were coming off my buddies truck and I knew the condition, miles, details I would approach $400, without that info, pass.

What scares me the most is he doesn't have any real info.

Are you sure they even fit a 1st gen? Can you get a pic of the model number and cross reference to see if they are the correct part. That would suck if they didn't fit.

I agree, Id pay 350 and put them on see how they ride or just rebuild them off the bat

Oh, yeah that does make a difference. Those might perform decently as fogs, sorta depends on the lens at that point, a turn signal isn't exactly a focused beam. I'd give it a shot, worst case scenario you end up with daytime running lights instead :p

New and better options? For Cheaper? Any high-end coilovers will be at least $1,000. I've been eyeing a set of ADS' for around $1,500. An OME setup will cost more than $400 between struts and coils and won't touch these performance wise.

I mean cheaper relative to their condition. I would pony up a few hundred more for a brand new set built to my liking rather than pay 400 for a set I might sink another 100+ with a rebuild in unknown condition....

Right! I passed on a set of Kings for $200 last summer and totally regret my decision.

But after a rebuild, at your estimation of another $100 (not necessarily realistic, but depending on condition could be) that would still have a set of perfectly working coil overs for half the price of new.

Shit happens, I had just ponied up $2500 to sort out the engine and front end all at once so my wallet was aching pretty badly.

Help out a brother. When referring to "performance", what are we talking about? The ability for the things to stay blown free while flying at 50 over dips and bumps the size of speed bumps? The performance of a better ride on the xway. The ability to adjust the height to compensate for heavier bumpers/winches?

I never see myself running trails at more than 20 mph, is spending a grand on shocks systems going to be appreciated? I'm probably safe to say that even the most die hard 'wheelers' still spend 90% on asphalt.Sorry about the derail.

If you were buying a set of coils sight unseen for 400 then payed another 100 to rebuild them, and then discover they have say 600# coils and ride like absolute crap with your front bumper, the added cost in a brand new set wouldn't be offset with that mistake? I went down that path and after I added a bumper my truck did not ride to my liking until I got a stiffer ride in the front. I'm not saying these cant make a good option, I was simply saying 400 was more than I personally would spend. We don't have enough details to determine a fair price, so we offer advice based on what we know.

As I said, at 200, yeah I would go, you missed on that one:annoyed:

I sure hope so! At least the rear end is cheaper to play around with in the meantime :bananadead:

I see what you mean, I'd still buy them, try them. If I didn't like them they can be sold in rebuilt condition for more and he likely wouldn't lose any money. 600# would actually ride nicely in my case with the 4cyl and heavy bumper, my 620s are just slightly too firm.
