I hate my Amex . Once you get out of the country a lot of places don't except it.

 

Accept it... accept. Sorry, not trying to be the grammar or spelling police.

I think the reason for that is because their fees to the vendors/stores are super high, so even within the U.S. not every place accepts it either.

It's a company card anyways so it doesn't get used much.

 

Businesses that have them as company cards must get some nice kickbacks or perks considering that not everyplace accepts it.

 

Really? I keep mine specifically for international travel. I've been on trips before where other people I'm with have had they're cards declined because the company wouldn't honor international purchases, and the amex has never failed me

 

I think as long as you let your credit card company know that you'll be out of the country, and when, they'll make sure your credit card works wherever you go. At least it did for me. Went to Portugal last year, gave them the heads up and it worked perfectly. And I don't have an Amex.

 

Damn those international whore houses!

 

My ex had this happen twice to us, he called ahead and everything. Had to use my amex for the rest of the trip

 

Well that sucks then. Knock on wood haven't had any issues before. Hopefully won't in the future either.
