    Good idea.

I highly recommend the metal tailgate rail. It solves a weakness on these trucks.

    Just set the Softopper back a bit so the bottom of the rear flap is below the plastic tsilgate topper then use this;
http://www.mcmaster.com/#5769k82/=xrtmlx with this http://www.mcmaster.com/#8200k331/=xrtk8q along with any 2" wide clear paint protective film (3M, clear bra, etc) to prevent grit from eating the paint under the magnet. If you have a steel tailgate reinforcement topper then you can set the Softopper a bit forward and skip the film. Either way, problem solved.

I did this after reading CountCoconut's post. Works great!

Looks good, looks pretty snug  I notice you have the mesh back cover, what's the good thing about it compare the clear plastic.

Keeps my dogs happy on road trips when they ride in the bed in their crates (secured in place). Their crates are typically strapped down in the back seat, so I've been running the clear plastic panel, but we had company this most recent road trip.

I bought the magnetic strip he recommended. Used leftover industrial strength velcro I picked up at Home Depot.

anyone looking to clean the bestop windows from scratches look no further. I searched and searched and found a video of a guy that took his bestop jeep windows to a boat show and got the Flitz reps to clean them, boy it did a great job so i decided to order this kit. Ive since ordered a big 2 lb can of this stuff because it works on TONS of materials. Guns, Knives, any metal, bestop windows, eisenglass windows, i used it on my sink the other day.

Flitz plastic window restoration with speed wax and buff ball

I tried it out and was amazed!
    product shot

BEFORE, very scratched and almost no visibility out of them

    AFTER wow what a difference

front small section is untouched to see the difference of before and after

Both that side done now, i can safely switch lanes!!

I dunno. I think the exact same thing can be done with carnuba auto wax. I use it regularly on the plastic welding helmet lens. The wax fills in the scratches.

If it is still scratch free in a month, then I'll be sold.

    Regardless, it turned out awesome.

flitz is 6000 grit paste form polishing compound so it removes the slightest amount of material and gets rid of those scratches, the speed wax puts a great polish on them afterwards and wears off quickly but the scratches are GONE!! these images are from over a month ago just forgot to post :D

EDIT: some of the deeper ones are still visible but all the swirl marks go away once you put this stuff on and buff with that buff ball.

Water does get in with the mesh rear window so be prepared for that. With the regular clear window, I didn't have any issues with water.

Thank you for the info. Yeah I've read about people having water issues after heavy rains.

Hi All - I'm a pick up truck newbie. Looking for pics of the Bestop Supertop when the top is pulled back. I'm torn between a hard tri-fold tonneau and Bestop Supertop. Seems like someone could just slice through the Bestop Supertop. Any advice is appreciated!
