I just dropped my TV down to the basic package so I can finish one show. After that I'm cutting the cable/dish and moving over to VPN with newsgroup subscriptions. TV costs too damn much for the 2 shows I actually watch.

I just find it funny that I am going to pack up the ps4 back in the box for the most part and put it away in a closet, while I use the vue app on a fire stick, I'd rather not leave the ps4 on 8hrs a day burning up vs a $30 stick. But so far the service is pretty awesome for $30 a month.

Been organizing and discarding old shit. Been finding a lot of old PC parts (before people realized not everything had to be beige). Between what I have, and my friend's ex, we could probably start a 90's office building network.

So please those whom are much smarter than I,

Im not sure if I have a board or a stick of RAM dying. Every now and then my PC starts to act strangely. It will flash, if you will, the screen then show the background again but then the task bar disappears and there is a warning triangle logo in the bottom corner. A quick reboot and all id fine, until it happens again. No one particular action sets it off. Last night I was transferring files from one HD to another and it happened 4 times. Today all is well.

Other times the mouse will become unresponsive. After waiting a few moments, its fine again.

It has never locked up to a blue screen or throw a full error code. I've run multiple bootable virus programs and found nothing. MS defender acts normal and is still updating. Nothing is telling me to buy their product to clean my PC... And like I said, it intermittent.

    Any thoughts?

Enter the BIOS after post and look for logs. Depending on the firmware and manufacturer, it may of may not be there. You can update the BIOS as well. Id start with that and the chipset drivers.

Gimp is the name of the program. I forgot I had the powers of Google and it's not 1999 anymore.

GIMP, im not a big fan but it works. Since my work is too cheap to buy a decent camera for security badges I use my phone and GIMP.

Use this to test memory first since they are the most common to go out.

    http://www.memtest86.com/

Run the test for a very long time. I'd let it run at least 10 full passes.

If that passes then it's something else, prolly a driver.

Pretty sure I'm getting an Ultra Gauge for my birthday in a few weeks. Have a quick question if I go with the wireless model. I would like to have a dedicated phone just for the gauge readouts so I can mount it up and leave it as opposed to using my phone.

UG wireless works off just a WiFi connection. Will an older phone/tablet work as just a stand alone unit without having to pay for a monthly activation service?

yessir. you can turn off mobile data and use bluetooth/wifi.

you could have also gone with an OBDII bluetooth module and using the same method, just use an old phone for that.
