I wouldn't call the forum "helpful" per say. But I get what you mean.

 

There is useful advice that can be found with a moderate amount of effort. The facebook page is like throwing a dollar bill in the mcdonald's ball pit, it's there but do you really wanna dig for it?

This is why I avoid the front page, new people have a hard time finding the Texas forum. I'm glad I moved from New Orleans, there wasn't much action on the LA forums

This. Anytime I leave the Texas area I swear a mod gets an alert. Sometimes I can go and post in the other areas but generally the tards are thick and my tolerance is low. And then I get a week to think it over.

We add stuff all the time without adding any cost to you guys, our lovely and amazing attendees. Toyota of Longview will again be grilling hot dogs and hamburgers for Opening Night Hangout. Toyota of Longview is also our Title sponsor this year.

Toyota is funny with their dealerships and marketing. They have restrictions on their dealerships about where certain dealers can advertise. Tyler couldn't advertise with if they wanted too. Curbside Taco last year was provided by Toyota Corporate directly as part of the 2016 Taco tour, so we won't have them onsite giving out food this year.

But, we are bringing out a food truck from the Come and Take It Cafe, based in Atlanta, TX. Come and take It is going to be offering breakfast and lunch on a cash basis. More details to come on that.

Sounds good on Come and Take It! I am actually starting to prep to decide what to bring in terms of food and if I want to cook or anything while there or just buy food instead.

 

Bring everything. Or bring nothing.

There's a Brookshire bros store not too far away from the park entrance. Get there early, setup camp, and then head to the store.

Key is early since it's a small town and may sell out on good stuff.

 

Good to know, I have been to Gilmer once, but has been a while. I love cooking, so who knows, I may just end up bringing the kitchen with me...

 

That's going to make life easy! I hope they're ready for the onslaught. I for one will be giving them my money in lieu of dragging my cookware and food with me.

I may be down for doing dessert if the rest of my meals are either provided or bought. How does campfire cobbler delight sound?

 

I like making meals ahead of time, I can eat some delicious pasta salad while other people are riding the struggle bus trying to cook a hot dog over an open fire.

And don't they have room service in the cabins?

 

I'm almost there. I prep food (chop things, and bag them). Just put in and go.

But I do enjoy having a beer while I wait for my meal to cook.

 

I am also a prep before hand type of person and just throw it all together. I may have to make something just because...

 

Well thanks to Amazon and their Coleman Deals last Thursday I now have a Coleman Sundome 4 Person Tent, Coleman Queen Size Quickbed, and a Coleman Classic Propane Stove!
