In other news I cannot get my damn macros under control this week. Like I struggling to get everything in. I didn't know tilapia had so much fat in it though. Per 8 oz is 5 grams. I've been having 9-10 oz for dinner every night and the salad dressing I bought has a shit ton in it. :-/ all my meals are already prepped for the rest of the week.

Throw it out or get that shit under control next week is the dilemma now. Because Saturday night no fucks will be given at dinner on my carbs lol I've got almost three months to get these next 5 lbs and I've learned that one night isn't going to make blow up like nutty professor again

I cut back from 2 bowls of Lucky Charms to 1.

Seriously doe, sugar has nothing to do with losing weight unless you're like sensitive to insulin or something. To prove this to my wife, I did a cut a few years back where I went from around 190 to 175 with Coke, cinnamon oatmeal, honey, orange juice, and a bunch of other sugary stuff in my diet and my physical results are no different from what I get when I do more "clean" cuts. It's all about calories. I do eat "cleaner" now because I feel better when eating au naturaaal....might just be the placebo effect, though. I generally stick to like a 80/20 ratio...80% healthy, clean, natural stuff, 20% junk. My "junk" on this cut is Lucky Charms, Strawberry-Banana V8, and 2 fiber bars (the chocolate Fiber One bars taste like a candy bar). Everything else is a protein source, "good" fats, and "clean food."

TL;DR: you can cut on bon bons and chocolate ON whey

I always thought unburned sugar turned to fat.

It does. But, if that's all your body has to burn for fuel, technically, that's what it'll burn. I try to cut out almost all sugar when I'm cutting. I'll still get some from fruits and things like that. Or if I'm feeling lethargic one day and can fit it in my macros I'll eat somethin sweet. For the most part, I stay away.

Like @dwalden2 said, it does...but that's all carbs, not just sugar. When you eat carbs, your body uses them for fuel. What's left over refills your glycogen stores that you empty when working out or doing strenuous activity. Anything left over, gets stored as fat. If you're at a caloric deficit, your body isn't going to have enough carbs left over to store as fat because you're not eating enough to fuel your body, therefore your body has to burn fat for energy.
