I have an 09 Tacoma and am looking to upgrade my audio to something that has GPS/Navigation, CD player, XM, Bluetooth. etc...

What do you all recommend? Would a factory 2016 unit fit in there? I have looked and searched but came up with way too much stuff. I am lost when it comes to this sort of thing. My wife has a 2016 Highlander and was wanting something similar to what she has.

although that radio is pretty good, it doesn't do half the things the op is looking for.

Depending on what kind of phone your using pioneer and kenwood make really nice units. Depends on what kind of connectivity your looking for phone wise. Other than bt ( like CarPlay or android auto ). Also screen size too. Lots of options but many solid units.

CarPlay is the latest craze. You do have to be plugged in but you can access your apps, texts, nav,Siri etc. Basically mirroring your phone on a 6.2 or 7 inch screen. Look at the pioneer units. New models will be like the 4200nex, 5200 and so on. If you see the 4100 that is last years model but "basically" the same as the 4200 just might be able to save some money. Good forum to research is avic411.com. ALL PIONEER users and owners pros and cons. As for kenwood 9702s. THESE ARE UNITS TO INTEGRATE YOUR PHONE INTO THE CAR THE MOST USING YOUR PHONE. Yes there are other units with nav (same brands as mentioned) just need to research and compare.

stick with brands you know and are major. Pioneer kenwood (Jvc is good too... Actually part of kenwood now) alpine. Spend the money on the unit. You get what you pay for. Remember it's the brain of your whole system. I promise you will have people on here saying they have a badass unit with EVERYTHING and it is only 300. Most expensive DOESNT mean the best, but it's about quality and longevity. Just my .02 being in the industry of car audio and installing for 22 years.

Only thing it is missing is the CD player.

And xm. It does not have the port to add dedicated sat. Yes if you have the phone app It would work but then again it would be using your data and some people don't to soley use that. Also, by doing it that way you only have sat while you have cell signal. You travel in places where you have no cell... You have no sat

Hi Frank, Maybe this will help I had a whole audio system put in my other car and for the head unit I went with a Kenwood DNX691 model with Navi and DVD player and CD. I have that in about three years and I love it. No matter where you read review on these units their is always going to be pros and cons to these head units. Maybe I was lucky and got a good one. I have my I phone to plug into for my music that is downloaded to listen to and my CD.
