Use a coarser grind and slow, consistent pressure when pressing.

I have both the stainless/reusable and paper filters. I only use the paper filters now since they filter out 99% of the fine material and most of the oils. The taste is also better, but just my opinion/pref.

Just after I bought mine, I was really surprised to hear there was an Aeropress world championship competition here in Seattle. Seriously? Crazy coffee people.

That is pretty crazy. Should have taken place in Portland, obviously.

I've had the SSR's in the past. FYI, your second picture is not SSR's but TSL (very different tires). The SSR is a radial with slightly tighter tread pattern and more siping that the TSL (or LTB) that are bias ply with larger tread blocks and no siping. The SSR is actually an acceptable road tire that isn't that loud and since it's a radial you won't have all the negatives on the road you get from a bias ply. Tread life on the SSR isn't as good as some other tire options but if it's one that's available in the size you want, then it's not a bad option.

Turns out they are on nation wide backorder. Interco said they don't have a production run scheduled, so the SSR is out. I think I'm going with Copper STT Pro
s in 31575R16 instead. Not many tall pizza cutters left these days.

Heard nothing but good about the STT Pro. 315's should have been the size the 80s had from the factory.

Agreed. I have 4.88's already so they should be fine. I think they measure out to 34.5" mounted. I'm waiting to see what Icon comes up with for springs, I might end up with their suspension at some point. My OME set up is getting pretty sloppy and not the most comfortable on washboard.

Icon has been working with Autocraft (Australia) on some sweet 80 series suspension. Darren McRae at Autocraft has been a long time 80 guy and has developed this suspension in conjunction with Icon. His "slinky" coils are paired with Icon shocks developed specifically for this application. Looks really nice from my research. As you know Australia isn't known for crawling but more for long distance "touring" with LOTS of washboard so these are designed with that in mind but also have some of the best travel available for 80s using factory links. They aren't available quite yet in the US but they have a US distributor lined up. (looks like it will be Redline). I've been talking with Darren for a while now and I'm hoping to get one of the first sets for some testing and a magazine article. I know Brian Swearingen (Woody) from IH8MUD has a prototype set on his 80 and I've been able to check it out up close and see it work when Brian was part of our chase crew for the Baja 1000 last November. He loves it and it seems to perform really well. I'm anxious to get it and try it out and be able to have a direct comparison to the OME setup I've currently got.

Search IH8MUD for "80 Series Shock Upgrade" or something like that and there is some information on there.

I read that thread. Well, if you need another beta tester throw my name in the hat. The guys at Icon know me, I was one of their guinee pigs for the LT taco coilovers.

Spent the weekend in the desert..... after coming through the mountains where it's still cold and snowing to emerge into sunshine and rolling around with the windows down or the ac on was a nice change from the 3 straight months of rain

The champions in the photo on that site look exactly how I would imagine a champion coffee maker would look.

No weather sealing at all. Light rain is probably okay, but anything sloppy or heavy not going to be good I would think.

Have any of yal with a fridge had to repair a non cooling unit?
I just scored an Edgestar 63qt fridge for free, it powers on and i can hear something running but does not cool down.
I downloaded the user manual, emailed edgestar and now im just waiting to hear back from them.

Would a refridgeration repair place be able to service such a small fridge or would i need a specialty place

I had a problem with the control panel on mine saying it had low voltage, I knew I had plenty of power so I replaced the control panel and have had no problems since then, is your fan operating?

Can always run a RTT under a softopper if your looking to keep stuff out of the elements, You'll lose half the space from the RTT but to keep it low and have covered bed space really not much for options.

What brand/model is your camp kitchen toolbox? Is it a Dewalt? It looks like it is also modular? If it's not too much of a hassle can you grab a height measurement of it for me? I wanna know if it will stand in the back of my truck on my sleeping platform, which sits 5/8" above the wheel well height.

I've mentioned this before, but I'm currently using an old picnic cooler bag for my kitchen gear. There are lots of different compartments and sewn in slots to hold cutlery. Instead of using it as a cooler we use the cooler portion for cooking pans/cutting boards, etc. Its served me well over the years but it's in pretty rough shape and I'm going to need to replace it soon. I've looked at buying another bag similar to the one I have but they are pretty pricey. They also come with cutlery, plates and glasses all of which I already own. I've been thinking of going the route you have. I've browsed a few hardware and tool stores already but so far haven't seen anything that looks like it would work as well as the one that you have.

    Thanks.
