So I'm working about 50 miles away from home which is nice so I can be at home everyday but I'm driving the honda so I don't have to fill up every 2 days in the truck.... So I gave the keys to the lady so she can drive it to school and back (7 miles total haha) But yesterday the truck decided it didn't want to start :annoyed: So she had to grab a ride with a friend for the day. After that one day the battery drained down and wouldn't start it hasn't liked sitting for more than a day, So much for the 31m. So after work I grabbed my stock battery and threw it in the pelfreybilt cage, thankfully it fit. Disconnected all the extra stuff, so whenever I get the chance Ill start running the wires to the back of the cab where the 31m will find its new home.

Kind of a bummer since I originally planned on skipping the headache of a dual battery and running this battery for everything and a small battery jumper for backup. But it seems like the alternator can't quite give it the power it needs to re charge to full capacity. Ill likely have to get a battery charger to get it back to normal again

So I was just looking at this FB page that I can't stand but almost always has bickering and just plain stupid stuff on it. But this kid put springs on his 5100s at the highest setting and inverted the bottom cup...:der: But he goes and says it doesn't look right but maybe it will settle once on the truck hahaha.

Also a sweet disco ii I saw when I was getting groceries, I drove clear to the other side of the lot to take a look

So you think the alternator isn't recharging the battery enough? Is it the stock one still? Any chance you might have some sort of parasitic loss somewhere?

Alternator is bad, battery is defective, or parasitic load is my guess.

If you do decide to do aux battery, I can provide parts list to complete battery isolator relay project for $75.

Well last time it died I went though everything and found it was the compressor causing the drain. I just think after it drained the alternator doesn't have enough power to bring it back completely, I did some research and others have said a battery charger it likely needed to bring it back completely. When I drive the truck it's usually a good distance so it gets some power but she only drives the truck 10mins in the morning and 10 mins at night so it probably couldn't keep up.

The plan was to swap it out anyways to relocate it to the rear, it just happened sooner than I wanted

Once I get everything layed out I'll do it, that way I can get all the big wiring done at once

Battery is just drained, need to bring it back to life. You can send that to me if you'd like, right now I'm pretty set on ml-acr but wouldn't hurt to see other options

Yeah I've been watching it since it was a prototype, pretty cool. I went though in my head and couldn't quite figure a situation I'd need the hook for. One thing that bothers me is if I wanted to use the bow side of the shackle I don't think I would have enough room to attach a strap cause of the clearance if you get what I'm saying. Im hoping the add a thimble with the larger opening found in the expert, they have the splicer but I'm not trying to un do my winch line just to add the other style

Sticking with the Flatlink expert myself, this thing just looks massive. Also, Mike Costa from Factor 55 emailed me and said to watch out for a new snatch block from them soon.

That will be cool to see, it will be interesting to see the price point. I have two of the preminum ARB ones and they are already priced pretty high at ~110

I like the preminum Warn stuff, looks cool without being over the top. I really want a titanium shackle from front runner, just because titanium

So me and @Sacrifice took off this morning to meet up with @geekhouse23 and @GARSHA91 at The Bad Lands offload park. Shit was packed when we pulled up, full of 4wheels/dirtbikes/sxs everywhere like a pest problem. I completely forgot that you needed a flag for the park and neither of us were about to buy a over priced flag, so we zip tied yellow microfibers to our Cb antennas  We mostly stayed in the Quarry which is a truck only section of the park that offers a bunch of different obstacles. Forewarning, I did not take much photos of any of us doing stuff but both bryan and matt took some so check their build thread for that stuff
[IMG]IMG_1245 by Chandler Coe, on Flickr
So we started off with meeting the group only after getting a little lost and going through some deep water. But after we ran into them Bryan was taking on some of the walls and ledges so me and Chris followed so take on some of the stuff. After moving to another section we had a theme of everyone trying to make it though a actually short mud section and every single one of us got stuck and had to be pulled out
[IMG]IMG_1236 by Chandler Coe, on Flickr
After that me and Chris decided to find some trouble and that usually works out for us, So we decided to hit a short up hill rock garden. Well Chris took the seemly easy line up (no spotter of course) and turned out to be some very large rocks and water at the top of the hill and got stuck pretty good, after trying the locker and bumping it the front under) the water in front of the truck was not helping. Finally gave up and ran a strap (not without chris falling into the 2-3ft deep water and a little tension on the line did the trick. Well since he tried it I did the same, only I had a spotter this time and was much easier without pinning the driveshaft/rear diff/hitch on a rock lol.

So after that I decided to try the little bit harder line, after waiting 5-10mins on a jeep to keep repositioning I decided to just do the harder line. Took some maneuvering around some bigger rocks but actually turned out to be way easier :notsure:

Well we both figured that wasn't enough so we set out to find some harder stuff, The first thing we came to was a little too gnarly and the break over was too much for our trucks and knew we were gonna get stuck.
[IMG]IMG_20160402_125319898 by Chandler Coe, on Flickr
So we hit up this ledge, I originally planned on the smaller one next to it but I figured fuck it. It took a a couple mins to line it up right because my front bumper was getting stuck on the ledge, this thing was nearly vertical. A large rut on the bottom kept tipping the truck over pretty far so I finally got a decent line and walked right up this wall that was taller than the truck. I was scrapping the HC rear for a good bit going up. Next Chris gave it a go and nearly tipped the truck so I figured I should spot him. Again Chris walked right up it after getting him onto a good line, pretty awesome seeing what our trucks can do.

So at this time it was getting close to us needing to hit the road back home so we figured we would hit a trail real quick and air up and move out. So we hit up the Tunnel area where the road goes above and a pool of water on one side, pretty neat addition to the park. Well I went it first and knowingly lead us to the harder tunnel, I remember last time hitting my slider and rear bumper coming off but whats the fun if your not using the stuff you bought. So I wait a little because a crowd of jeeps and a single FJ are on the other side so I wanted to make sure I wasn't getting in their groups way, well seems to be they are wanting to watch us so here it goes.
[IMG]IMG_1220 by Chandler Coe, on Flickr
So this is about how deep my front end was in the water when I came off the ledge, One thing I don't remember was how deep the water was... well it was fucking deep. Slowly dropping in waiting for my sliders to hit I was waiting for the front tires to hit the ground, waiting, waiting, water deeper, and deeper. All I could think of it fuck I hope I don't get caught on anything because this stuff is up to the middle of my door, So I gave it the skinny pedal not taking any chances of getting the rear end caught up and slammed my rear bumper and drove to dry land. Turned around quickly to grab a couple of shots of Chris coming down.
[IMG]IMG_1218 by Chandler Coe, on Flickr
[IMG]IMG_1219 by Chandler Coe, on Flickr

So after that ordeal I was over the deep water. So we went down an easy trail that wasn't much, ended up on a ATV trail and we finally came to an area that was a little too narrow and probably wouldn't have ended well. So we get turned around and Chris back in the lead back down a steep hill and onto the original trail we were on. We one across to two dirt bikes and looked like the guy maybe fell and was taking a break or something and they just starred at us, well Chris was going along and the water got really really deep. He tried backing up but couldn't quite make it out, So we hooked the strap to give his a tug. Finally got hit out, and he opened his door and a huge amount of water was gushing out of his door, turned out when he got stuck it was seeping in water and I had no idea. And for the guy who looked like he was taking a break, well he tried going through it and was too deep and ended up killing his bike, well thanks for the heads up dude.

So with his carpet completely soaked he headed for the lot to air up and hit the road. I had a pretty bad vibration starting out but when I told him that it kinda worked itself out he replied with he has a really bad vibration and needed to pull over. And his already candy caned drive shaft had about 3 new large dents on the shaft, nearly flat on one side. While pulled over I noticed my swing out was really close to the tailgate thinking I had bent the spindle, turns out when I came out of the tunnel, it shifted the back of the bumper up tilting the bumper so ill have to fix that tomorrow
