I had this same issue and swapped out the needle bearing for the ecgs bushing and it went away. Dealership wanted to swap drivelines but also wanted me to put my truck back to stock. Didn't want to deal with it so I swapped the bushing and its gone.

I was debating between those and BFG KO2's. How you like them and what was their mileage warranty?

I looked more closely and it looks like your tires are turned to the right...that might be it too

    What does an "understatement" mean.
In other words we are saying the same thing? The odometer says 100 miles but in fact its 105 miles (assuming 5% increase in tire tire diameter)?? Therefor "understating" the mileage?

Shitty choice of words for sure. I meant that with a manual transmission when your going 70 on the speedo you're only traveling about 65. Same thing with mileage, multiply your odo reading by .9 to get an accurate #.

    I'm thoroughly confused now... lol.
When you have a taller tire (which most of us here do) your speedometer is 3-5 kph slower than your actually going. Example - I'm doing 105 and in fact I'm going about 110.

So you're saying with MT its ass backwards compared to AT ? I need to see the math why that is .. lol . :lalala:point me to the thread that explains this plz!

I think what he is saying is that if you have an oversize tire, your tire is making less revolutions than a smaller tire would because it is bigger. That being said, you are traveling faster than your speedo says, but you are putting on less miles than the odo says, because the tire is making less revolutions. AT, MT, doesn't matter.

just run your truck without the sway bar if its giving you such a headache. i been running my truck without for a few thousand miles now. going up and down mountains on winding road without a problem. you have a nice suspension setup.

With an AT the speed sensors at the wheels, your speedometer will read lower than what you're actually traveling at. With an MT the speed sensor is at the transmission, your speedometer will read higher than what what you're actually traveling at. If you want to really find out where you're at, take a GPS out on the highway and use it while you do the mile marker or km marker test. When I did it I was traveling 65 mph when my speedometer read 70. This was with my MT.
It makes a difference since the two systems work differently.

So then if you put two trucks side by side going the same speed, one with an MT, one with a AT, they wouldn't be calibrated the same?

Hey pngo121, thought about taking it off even though it's not too bad now with the 285 70's, but am wondering how highway driving would be, and if the 6" lift will be a problem without the sway bar. Also thinking with the smaller tire maybe I could get away with a 1.25 spidertrax spacer which would give me plenty of sway bar clearance and maybe still clear my fenders. That would give me a wider stance which might look good being I have the thinner tire now, I didn't like the 1.5 spacer with the 315 tire. Was too wide, and raised hell with the fenders!

Nice. How's that tire size working out? I assume you trimmed your body/cab mount. Anything else prospective Tacoma owners could learn from your experience?
