If you don't know why some prices are the way they are on the Tacoma, you haven't done enough research.

I think he means, what you should pay, how much wiggle room you have, what warranties to buy, etc. You know...research

By research I mean you shouldn't be asking the questions you've asked the day before you plan to get a truck ordered.

Your first new car, so that makes some sense.

But being decided on when you're going to make a $35k purchase before you have a better idea of what you're actually doing seems absolutely crazy.

Type exactly what you want into TrueValue and get the best deal out there. Telling ya, it was a breeze and made the time at the dealership minimal.

That's like 5% of what you need to know before walking into a dealership thinking you're to go inside and tell them how it's going to be.

Are you going to test drive too? If not, I would personally just call or email to place order. Chances are they might not even be able to "order" (i.e. get allocation) for what you want in a reasonable amount of time. Add to the fact that it is a M/T so they probably wont even have one for you to test drive. I got a manual transmission and ended up having to go out of state.

I looked on true car and a Toyota dealership in Mechanicsville has one very close to what im looking for on the lot. I think im going to hold off on placing an order so I can do more research into what I should pay

I wasted several hours with costco, the asshats at the only approved costco dealership said "come one down we'll tell you what we can do for you"

I got there and they said the 2016 tacoma is excluded from the discount. Yeah so I left. assholes.

Went to my more local dealership where I had talked to a salesperson before hearing about the costco program and gave him the deal...paid sticker minus $500 that was it, this was in November, truck came in a week as it was already on the way.

Well, if you are going to wait on a manual transmission to get the best price you will easily be waiting into the 2017 models. Might as well give those a chance too.

Are they forecasting any "upgrades" on the 2017 models? The reason im trying to get it soon is because the transmission is slipping in my daily now. I also know that I want exactly what I want and will not settle for anything less.

Ehh, before my Tacoma I had a 2002 ford exploder. Is it auto? The transmission had slipped for years in the ford. Baby it a little and you'll be fine into the 2017's.

And the general consensus is that 2017 will be almost the same as 2016.

When they ask you what you want your monthly payments to be, how will you respond?
