Well there ya go, probably just get the Nittos. The nice thing about the ProComps is the 40k tread warranty. Several Pirates are running them since they are priced reasonable af.

So more food for thought...the ProComps are on sale for $387/each now, and they weigh about 10# less per tire too...hmmm.

Yes. On my second set. I really like the mud-terrains but I rode in a Heep that had them and I could hardly hear myself think! Way too loud for any serious road trip IMO.

A nitto rep posted on pirate the 40s are the same carcass as the k spec nittos that won at KOH. Those tires did real well for a lot of guys at KOH actually. Figured they were tough enough for me. Ive been real impressed, they hook up awesome, and they run down the road unbalanced on alloy beadlocks real smooth. Even on the highway at 80mph.

The ProComp Mud terrains? The reviews I am reading say they are pretty quiet, and I will be coming from old mtr's literally missing entire lugs. The saving $400 is tempting on the ProComps

I read alot of good reviews on the Nittos. They all speak of the durability and how nice they balance. That alone may be enough to sway me.

That's probably the most highway friendly tire out of the bunch. Guys here on the southwest have had mixed results with those tires and hard core rock crawling. But I think they are great for most other types of terrains.

I almost got a set of 40" Procomp xtreme MT2 because of the price and good reviews on Pirate. But then came across a used set of 40" Nitto Trail Grapplers for a good price. So I went with those for now. Haven't mounted them yet, so I don't really know how they perform. But most people have written good reviews on those.

Anyway, congrats on the new tires!

Hey Mark, what's your upper link length? I saw a post about your lower being 50 inches so I'm guessing around 35?

Also you still willing to fab up link brackets for the frame side? I have a ways to go but it'd be a small start to figure out links. Already been messing with the 3 link calculator and I think I know what to shoot for after some research
