Your Tacoma looks awesome straight on. From the side...it just seems a bit off though. ;)

Any of yall come from mud tires?? Seems like most of you started with other all terrains... I don't want to step into an all terrain and expect mud terrain performance.. other than mileage and weight muds aren't bad.. I will actually be shedding weight if I go with these tires.. great thread.. probably pulling the trigger next week once my hubs get here.

I came from fierce attitude mt 285/75-16. I thought they were amazing offroad. Got st maxx in 255/85-16 and feel they are better. Not much but they are better. Not sure if it's the tread pattern or the fact that they are skinnies though that make the difference. Also the spacing between tread lugs is actually the same even though they look less aggressive.

Appreciate yall chiming in. I had caught a glimpse of the STT Pro's and was wondering if that was the direction I wanted to head, but I have liked the look of the maxx.. everyone around here thinks I am crazy because for most of them it's look over function.. just don't want to get these and everyone start saying, "see we told you they would suck"

Goodyear has the duratracs in there M/T spectrum not sure if you could consider them true M/T but as far as performance I'm impressed so far with the st maxx only being less than 50 miles into them. Better road manners but I think the width of them definitely grabs a little more of imperfections in the road.
And they definitely feel way more engaged. That's all I got for now. Definitely very happy with the move and they ride just as soft at load E coming from load C thought I'd feel a difference.

Duratracs are a way different world at least as I see them. they are more of an aggressive AT.
see I am coming from these muds.

DO NOT buy these tires... stupid heavy and I have a supercharger... I have had them for less than 20k miles and at least 3/4 worn. and they are horrendously loud since day 2.. don't let anyone fool you...

I ran the St Maxx on my Dirty 'ol Dodge, 285/70/17, no they're not as aggressive as a MT, however they do clean out well.
I was working in some slick nasty red clay and they would keep moving you forward.
They're not swampers so if you try to use 'em like that "is a not gonna work so good".
I was very surprised by how much flex the sidewall had at 45psi. (but there again the DoD is a bigger heavier truck)
It's a tough ass tire that does a lot of things really well.

In this case I got a bit over zealous,..

Geez. So much for Nittos reviews and write on these lol. I agree but the GY duratracs are still very high on my list as far as tires go. They just don't come in every shape and size. Plus everyone that has the "build of the year awards" are running the MTR

odd, my brother has them in 35s on his dodge and they're great tires, not loud at all.

Duratracs and BFGs are never an option, both are hideously ugly and over priced.
