Ok 2nd Gen. Just purchased the Halo 17x8 wheels with 2" spacers and 285/70r17 bf goodies ko2's. Hoping this setup will work without any clearance issues. Any suggestions?

Yeah I had to take the front flap off before I got the lift. Thanks man.

Spacers will make the rubbing worse. You want the rim to have just enough back spacing to clear the UCA but adding wheel spacers will push the tires into the cab mount and fenders.

I just swapped out my 265/70/17 BFG rugged terrains (awesome tires) for some 285/70/17 BFG KM2s. I only have a 1.75-inch lift front and back and 1.25-inch wheel spacers. After removing the mudflaps and aero front mud flap thing (not sure what else to call it) I don't rub unless I am at full lock, and I clear the UCA no problem. I am sure I will rub when I hit the trail, so I'll trim to facilitate that. I am also planning a CMC and already ordered plates from BAMF to fill those holes. I'll post some pictures of how much I have to cut and the CMC when I'm done though there are a few threads on TW that show that already.

That said, if you just did what I described above, you should be able to drive around town no problem.

The other thing people frequently complain about is a loss of power and noise. While I notice the extra weight, I'm not disappointed with power at all. If you drive like a mad man, it might bother you, but with normal driving, it isn't a problem.

Running a very similar setup. Minus the spacers. like @Mademan925 said the back spacing on your wheels is the key

you may want to clarify if those spacers are for your suspension or if they are wheels spacers.

The 2" spacers are for the wheels. I have the 3" front and 2" back leveling kit. I'm going to try to run it without the 2"wheel spacers.

What size wheel spacers are you running or do you have aftermarket offset wheels?

Not running spacers. I have aftermarket wheels. The offset and backspacing act as a spacer on their own.

Ok thanks guys. Maybe the 1.25" wheels spacers will give me the correct backspacing. Also got the 285's in today. It's a nice tire and larger than I expected.WP_20160401_010.jpg

Got plenty of clearance with the bfg kos's 285/70/17 and they ride like a dream compared to the Goodyear authority. I love the new wheels they give it that very aggressive look. Here are a few before and after pics. For you guys.V__7721.jpg WP_20160406_002.jpg WP_20160406_001.jpg WP_20160406_003.jpg

Hot damn. Looks good man. Glad you're happy with it.

I love the sidewall on those KO2s. They are a cool looking tire.

Covered in stickers and chrome stick-ons for extra horse torques and foot powers. Icon sticker gets me tons of travel, dozens of milimeters.
I agree with this, put the tires on first and trim it to stop rubbing (don't forget cab mount chop) then if you insist on spacers for "looks" put them on and see how it fares.

@slickrick 72284 I have about 2.5" spacers and 295's and I scrub a little which I hate! How is working out with your current set up? I am looking to move down to 285's..

I'm running the 285s with no wheel spacers. With 3" lift in front and 2" lift in back. No rubbing what so ever. Even at full lock. I'm very pleased. Didn't even need need a cmc.
