I just moved to CA from WV and had to have mine smogged in order to register (get raped) in CA. Since the snorkel used all the stock plumbing under the hood the tech couldn't find anything wrong with it and couldn't find anything online to fail it for. Hopefully that wasn't something local and applies all over the republic.

All the crap in the air goes into the pre filter. I shook it out once a month. Usually just a few bugs. Nothing to cry about.

I understand your concerns @Large but to be honest I don't appreciate you bashing this thread.

    I FUCKING LOVE MY SNORKEL!!!
I'm sure other Airflow lovers can chime in as well.

If I was bashing I would just tell everyone to not buy this POS and not give any reasoning. But I see I'm not welcome so I'll let myself out.

Although I don't think there is anything wrong with the head as you mentioned I will be using a prefilter. Would regardless of brand.

Appreciate the feedback given on the product. I feel the install around something like this is tricky as it is. With the feedback that you have given along with others it will help during install.

I do understand how the op can see it as "bashing" but it's better to know what something is and not be surprised rather than think it's the greatest and be disappointed.

Hell if I would have paid top dollar for an arb and the install went shit, I would be pissed. I just can't stand the look of the new arb and its so freaking expensive. This is like a happy medium on price with a decent template. Compared to the China snorkels that are generic and you have to figure it out for a $100.

Just my .02 cents. What do I know.

Now op any updates on price and shipping? Curious about on the other side of the pond in Canada....eh.

Totally agree with seeing the whole spectrum of pros and cons.

Price is looking like $335 maybe less. But no more than $335.

    Will do:thumbsup:

For those talking about pre filters, if you dont like the look of the fish bowl, you can also plan on running an inline air cleaner. I think my end product will be snorkel, to inline air cleaner, to inline Donaldson filter, to throttle body.

So is there a way to plumb the snorkel into the AFE (TRD) style cold air intake of do I need to go back to my stock and then plumb it into that? I know it's going to be a bit until we get our snorkels but I want to be prepared so I can get it on right away.

You can do a snorkel to CAI.
Just tubes with air, hose clamps, and silicon would be helpful.
