I've got battery voltage to the relay connector "All the Time". Switch off or ignition off. Is it supposed to be Hot all times? That doesn't make sense to me!?

Yes! .... same wiring but yellow inside wire. The harness was set up differently. The under hood ground wire was on Passenger side and I had to find a ground there. I still don't understand the Relay connector being Hot all the time?

The only way the lights will come on is if you have the igniton on. If you got the Fuse tap in the same spot as me. Even thought you got the wiring harness to the battery doesn't mean it has power all the time.

OK Gang, I've Got FOG LIGHTS!!!
First! Thank's for all the inputs!!
It was, as usual, the simple problem that I thought I'd checked!! Bad ground 'cause I didn't prep the "grounding site"!! For those stuck with the harness that is wired for the ground on the passenger side there is a perfect spot about 8" under the radiator cap. An empty 10mm threaded hole (welded-on nut) ....... just make sure you properly sand-off the &^#$%@ paint!! That besides wasting three hours on non-problems and breaking one of my *#@*&$ High-$$ Hella yellow bulbs ... anyway... I haven't put the dash together yet as I was not in the mood to tackle getting the hood release cable re-attached and it was Miller Time ;-)
    1) I used the basic stuff that Moe2o4 suggested but I stuck with the light assemblies (& Blubs ..Now!!) and dash switch that came with the harness (I've got an AT).
    2) I didn't like leaving the cover off the fuse box so I:
    a) Heated up the cover, peeled off the fuse diagram and pasted on the back inside cover of the Owners manual.
    b) Drilled a hole in the cover over where the fuse is. Enlarged with a dremel tool. Replaced cover and then stuck the Add-a-fuse assembly through the hole into the fuse slot.
    3) I covered all the under the Hood wiring with additional, OEM like, plastic conduit.
Maybe by Noon tomorrow I might have it all back together and be thinking about my next project ..... Dual Horns that sound like a Truck should.
After that ... and warm weather ... it will be time to stick on the body trim mouldings and SS trim for the Grill!

    MERRY WEEKEND :)

PS: The red lead on the relay is always hot!!!

Get the lower dash corner and as close as you can to the dash and attach it first with the hood open so you have a good bit of play in the cable

    OK Gang!!
    A bit of advice!!!
DO NOT DISCONNECT THE HOOD RELEASE ...... if you can work around it!!!
Between last night and today I have spent three+ hours on the re-attach mission and it's still not attached.
I Know!! I'm Old-n-Slow but a Word to the Wise!!!

I thought "Seat Belt" Mike Sweers said that only the seat belt buckle was the same in between the 2nd Gen and 3rd gen...... sorry OP back to my trolling.

Great thread though, thanks for posting.

Looks to be about the same amount of work for when I put fog lights in my 2nd gen.

THIS IS NOT NORMAL bumper sticker
Just did the install last night. Thanks moe2o4 for the instructions. My harness came with the yellow wire attached to the long leg but I simply connected the long side to the drivers side and had no problem reaching passengers side light with the short half of the harness. Also I did not need to disconnect the hood release cable. My harness came with the relay plugged in. Initially I was also confused by relay and the blade style fuse next the it as I have no experience with wires and electricity. I was amazed that it worked when I turned the ignition on.Thanks again for the write up!!!!!

moe2o4, thanks for the write up.

    I just did my co-worker's 2016 Taco.
I did not see the need to tear into the dash at all. I tied the red wire from the switch into the left park light.
