it has definetly opened up a lot of avenues and saved me a ton of money. It is definitely challenging and more time consuming than you would think.

    I'll agree with this.

I'm in the same boat - picked up a welder about a year ago. It sure is nice building whatever you can think of!

With welding the more you practice, the better your welds get. Everytime I weld, my first welds look like crap, but are strong.

Working on my spare swing out..... All tacked up and ready to go. The @comp4x4 spindle from @RelentlessFab is unbelievably strong. I was hanging off of the arm after I welded it up. May gusset it just to be safe though. I'll tackle the latch and the spare bolt plate tomorrow.

    Very nice!

I am curious as to what your plan is for the latch. The latch is the only part of mine that I have yet to figure out...

I had to put it up there like that to make it stay. I'm waiting on the mounting plate to come in the mail today

Where did you purchase this, the latch and tire mounting plate? I may do the same thing.

I built mine from parts i got at the local trailer supply store if you hate online shopping like I do. For the latch I used a spring latch. And a stub axle for the swing arm. But there are million other parts out there. Best of luck! Looks good btw
