Yes. You get flagged. Happened to me with my l.e.d's. Tried to go back to the place i passed the year before...guy told me i have to fix it and go back to goodyear waipio...

Yeah, if the recon inspector specifically wrote no flares needed then he could give the safety guy flack cause the recon inspector has the final say. The safety inspector doesn't have to inspect the car if he disagrees with recon, but he can't fail you for something recon specifically said.

I would have given him so much shit for doing that to me. My friend that does mine won't fail anyone the first time. If something is wrong, he won't charge you and says get it fixed and come back. If you keep bringing it back with the same problem then he'll fail you. Or if your car is so bad it has no business being on the road lol

Once they fail you and stick a fail sticker on the car, you only have 30 or 60 days to get it reinspected.

 

I really, really, really, don't want any garden edging type flares on my truck. I specifically wrote down "cut stock flares" and what not, on my recon paperwork. I wrote down everything that I cut. lol

 

Anybody interested in doing a Peacock flats day run sometime at the end of April? My cousin and her husband is coming down from Washington and he wanted to see some places that we go wheeling at. Already took him to Kaena point, so was thinking of Peacocks this time around. Don't wanna go by myself either just in case I run into some trouble or get lost.

@xmods, where is your friend located? I will be needing a safety inspection soon since I just got my 3" leveling lift with bigger wheels and tires.

 

Just make sure your truck matches your recon paperwork.
