The other thing you can do for the light bars/ leds is step them up to 24vdc. Most light bars are rated for up to 32vdc. They run cooler as they do not pull as many amps at higher volts. I run my el'cheapo 27w off road floods at 24vdc with a step up converter. Had them on the truck over a year now and no issue once so ever. We make our own LED systems at work and build the drivers in house as well so we do a lot of testing and have played around with a lot of the "Cheap" LED bars from Amazon. Biggest thing we found is little to no driver circuitry on some of the very cheap ones and they are extremely inefficient. Got a 20" light bar off amazon that pulls 10 amps at 12vdc, however it pulls under 6amps at 24vdc. We will probably build a driver for that one or I'll get a "High Power" dc step up converter and run them as is. for $20 i'm not so worried about it.

Using this one currently in my harness for my 27w floods. http://www.electrodragon.com/product/xl6009-step-dc-boost-adj-module-4a/

The El'Cheapo 27w lights. I got them when they miss marked them and had 2 for $12. Surprisingly Shanren's lights are pretty damn good quality with drivers on all of the ones we have messed with. These pull like .35amps each @ 24vdc.

I'd light sand and spray it with rustoleum performance enamel, a lot of my frame is sprayed with that

I was planning on it, I was just wondering. This is the last year I qualify for the frame rust replacement

My frame has the same thing, if it doesn't look deep just do what was said above if you didn't want to worry about getting the whole thing replaced.

Pretty sure it's at Toyota's discretion as to whether they'll replace the frame and I doubt a little surface rust would prompt them to do it. It probably has to be completely rusted through before they would consider it. Could be wrong but who knows?

Most dealerships require a hole in the frame plus I don't think Florida trucks qualify.

I know of two frame replacements here in pinellas. I would have Toyota look at it , and document there findings. Might come in handi some day.

doesn't hurt to have toyota look at it for your piece of mind, but i'm almost certain it's going to be a waste of your time, surface rust is nothing, if you google rusty frame tacoma you'll see some real rust

Thinking about it, if your truck hasn't been in for the frame recall, if you take it in, I think they were coating the frames that weren't bad enough to scrap with a corrosion inhibitor, but I could be wrong about that.
