It's 2016. I'd much rather have a hybrid option in a midsize truck than a diesel.

Id rather an EPA ruined diesel than a hybrid anything. Its going to be funny 50 years from now when we realize the amount of added pollution caused by the mining and disposal of the batteries for these silly things. My favorite is the 100% electric cars that people charge at their house which is powered by a power plant burning coal.

Well my reasoning wasn't fully environmental. But sure...though here they would be nuclear plants. And depending on where you live, diesel can be a pain in the ass to find. I can't get diesel at Costco. lol

I want a nuclear powered Tacoma in 2018.

Or a kinetic energy Tacoma, it'd work great on the streets here. A lot of potholes.

Why is every one panning the diesel? The new Nissan Titan has a Cummings engine option. Maybe people don't like 400 HP and 800 FP of torque. That being said you have got to drive them and work them or you are just wasting your money to impress your neighbors with the noise. They have the huge torque at just exactly where it is needed for towing.

Where did you get those figures from? It's rated at 310/555. Still good but far from 800 torque. lol And regardless, the Tacoma wouldn't have a turbo V8 diesel anyway.

Thats definitely true, i always kept a gallon or so with me when I had my diesel just incase. Nuclear power plants are definitely what this country needs more of though.

The ultimate hauling machines, trains, are diesel hybrids. 100% torque at 1rpm would be great for towing. It's much easier to clean the pollution at a single source such as a power plant than it is at multiple cars.

This must have been the same sales manager at the Chevy dealership that told me that the Colorado ZR2 was DEFINITELY happening... Yeah okay

The comment was about diesels in general not the Titan. Ford produces that kind of power by the way the 6.7 new Dodge Cummings is 385 HP and 900 FTP. No the Tacoma won't but if you want to tow with a Tacoma a Tacoma diesel would be the hot lick. Again probably 75% of the diesel pickup owners will never use their diesels the way they were intended.
