If I read your post correctly(which was very informative thank you) , I would benefit more with a short reset trigger , which is cheaper then a sa/da conversion. Unless I NEED a safety, which I don't think I'll need with a DAO as you said the trigger pull is much harder 10-12 lbs vs. 6lb . Since my 229 is a DAO , I realized last night playing with it that it has a full reset(the trigger has to go all the way back to its neutral position) in order for it to cycle . So I would think I'd like the Short reset trigger.

Something else for me to look into now ...

Im sure they had a good time! Love going shooting with my dad. But I would have made them clean the guns :) Then again I dont clean mine very often lol.

On another topic....32auto is an interesting round to reload for! Such a cute little cartridge makes it interesting on the dillon 550b. Only loaded up 20 rounds (to make sure the function in the gun) but definitely a round I enjoy reloading since its not as boring as 223/300blk to load

so, after listening to you boys and advising my pops, looks like we are staying away from the P238 380 Auto carry compact and going with the P220 45ACP. Nice pistol to keep the 1911 & P226 company! Now we wait until 4/12 to pick her up, thanks CA! :D

Thinking about picking up a Mossberg 12 gauge. Anybody have any dealings with the 500 flex series? I really like the idea of how versatile and easy it is to swap barrels, stock, grip, etc... But I'm wondering about durability.

Local Academy Sports has a Turkey/Defense combo - 18.5" and 24" barrels and then a standard stock and also a pistol grip. All for $479.99! Seems like a really good deal considering you are basically getting two shotguns for the price of one.

Anybody have any first hand experience with that combo?

I'm not a fan of Mossberg shotguns myself,a go Rem 870 for any hunting and have a saiga 12 for my fun time, nothing like that 20 round MD drum to keep you busy

    Never enough
My Mossberg Maverick 88 which shares many parts with the 500 has issues with failures to fire despite my diligent maintenance. Also the pump is plastic and literally cracked in two pieces the last time I successfully fired it. I will not be investing anything into fixing it and will not be giving Mossberg any future business.

not with the flex specifically. But I do with a mossberg 500! I picked up the 18.5" and 26" barrel combo. Havent had a single problem with it in the 500 or so rounds ive put through it. The barrel change is the same on both and is quick and simple.

If you really want to change stocks and stuff the flex is great. Otherwise id go with a regular 500

Appreciate it fellas... From everything I've read, the Mossy 500 is very reliable and durable. Just not quite 100% sold on the quick and easy Flex system. May just go with the std 500 and pick up another barrel.

I want to say i paid around ~350 at Big 5 for the combo with the 18" and ~26" barrels. So not bad at all. I think the regular mossberg 500 was like 290 at the time. So bit cheaper than the flex model. Just all about what you want.

i wish my ffl would call me :( He has two of my guns. Sadly right when i ordered them he contacted me saying he had a family emergency so i dont want to bug him. Still sucks knowing you have two guns that are yours all of 3 miles from you!
