What's a unibody?

 

Where there is no frame separate from the body. The frame is incorporated into the body like a modern day car. You gain a lot of handling by running a unibody vehicle but if you get hit in an accident it's most likely going to be a total. Guys that run xjs because they are cheaper for that reason. They were very capable but desposible. As long as you upgraded to a Dana 44 or a ford axle. The Dana 35 that came on them was a pos. My younger brother was a jeep guy before he saw the light lol. I had a Cherokee myself and I can tell you that inline 4.0 is badass even by today's standards and runs miles around the 4.0 in my.tacoma. its just in a wrong truck haha.

Anybody know of a place to get rock sliders or have them installed thats in Washington? Im going to be going from Seattle to Tri-cities this coming week and want to pick some up or have them put on.

 

I know a guy in Snohomish that will weld them on if you buy them elsewhere.

I'm having this guy weld mine on next week.

 

I was going to weld mine on but twalchlii1 brought up a good point of doing an annual inspection on your frame. Having a bolt on you can check it for cracks and repaint it easier. I just got some 4inch angle and made mine a bolt on.

I hear ya. I'm stuck at the office tonight. It was a beautiful drive in today. Too bad I was headed into Seattle not out of it

 

guess im weird....these are the days I want to be out hiking or camping. Or sitting around a bon fire. Wheeling days are the non-rainy days that are overcast or cooler. I want ot be outside and not in the cab

Not that i wouldnt go wheeling in this weather though! I did get off work early and got the truck washed.....now i wish i hadnt as i realized how pin striped it is lol.

 

Did the same thing on Friday, even armor all'ed the tires. Now it looks all prissy. May have to go get it dirty again tomorrow.
