I pulled the spare tire out, for some weight reduction, and stored it because I have AAA. I also installed my new WeatherTech hood guard. I gained 1 MPG better fuel economy per tank according to the onboard meter.

I did mine the exact same way. Really happy with the results but also found that it didn't want to come off in perfect clean lines. Very lightly ran a straight edge along edge of tape before removing and solved that problem. Hope it helps.

Yeah, me too. I'd be more likely to carry two spares than none. No spare looks bad on my man card.

Yeah, but we have to be careful on here. Someone else had started a thread similar to that statement griping about the Toyota care service and how he was left on the side of the road for three hours and he got ripped up so bad they shut down the thread

Never knew they had them ready yet. Did you have to do any drilling or does it bolt up to the existing holes under the hood?

I let a yota dealer check mine, as well as an alignment issue I suspected I had. Yota dealer said both were fine and sent me on my way. Later that week the alignment was driving my nuts so I look it to a speciality shop, guess what, the alignment was off. Later that week I checked the tranny fluid, that was low too....Fuck yota dealers...

My wifes car is a 2013 Hyundai Elantra, had a flat out in the middle of nowhere, popped the trunk, no spare, they had in it's place a small pump and a canister of fix a flat, the tire was sliced about 3 inches, fix a flat isn't doing anything with that. Had to call for a tow. You want a spare tire with your brand new car from Hyundai, pay extra for it, ridiculous.

No drilling required... You attach to existing holes
