I basically went in with similar numbers but I had to go with more caster than that to avoid rubbing. once the CMC is done Ill readjust my caster closer to 3.5

    Howdy Y'all

I'm a NOVA local and popped in here a few times. I've been meaning to meet up one of these days, but never seem to find the time between full-time work and a masters program.

Anyway, just swapped out my 265/70/17 BFG rugged terrains (awesome tires) for some 285/70/17 BFG KM2s. I am so pleased with how it came out. I only have a 1.75-inch lift front and back and 1.25-inch wheel spacers. After removing the mudflaps and aero front mud flap thing (not sure what else to call it) I don't rub unless I am at full lock. I'll trim to facilitate wheeling. Though many on this forum indicate that major trimming is required; I don't think that will be true. Don't take my word for it, though; I've yet to roll over anything bigger than a pothole.

The other thing people frequently complain about is a loss of power and noise. While I notice the extra weight, I'm not disappointed with power at all. If you drive like a mad man, it might bother you, but with normal driving, it isn't a problem.

Note: My dog Chester was concerned about being able to jump into the truck. Though he was fine, and enjoyed rolling those tires around my yard with me. :)

Looks good. I keep flip flopping between 1.75 or 2.5 lift...

I went with 1.75 to avoid the cost of UCA's. Plus I re-used to stock TRD Sport springs and heard that 2.5 is rough (though I can't verify that's true). 1.75 is more stiff than stock, noticeably so. So is the AAL. Though I think the ride is great on the road. I will say when I did about 10 miles offroad in the GWNF (about an hour of wheeling) some of which was fairly rough, and the ride got uncomfortable near the end. Not like it wasn't fun, it was just noticeably jarring.

I'll also add, when parked next to a stock tacoma, you DEFINITLY notice my truck is taller. You'll achive the look with 1.75 and larger tires.

Just some food for though. I'm sure 2.5-3 is pretty badass if you do it right.

I would only get about 1.6 with the eibach springs or shy under 2.5. Uca aren't in the budget right away...ill have a week to make a decision lol...same as you between work and family it's hard to make it out. I work in Arlington, should get a gtg closer to work haha

Would love to go but I have Wheelin' 4 Hope that weekend down in Charlotesville (Or however you spell it)

On alignments, fuck Hi-Tech. Take it to C&C in Sterling near DoubleD's shop. They're quick, charge $100 no matter what your suspension setup, and they get it right the first time.

Now that I'm back from the sandbox let's get a meet going that isn't at the shitty Hooters:cheers:

Buy once, cry once. The OME lift is nice but if you want a ride that is nicer than stock, have the money, and want an easier to adjust setup in the future, go ICON. I wish I had just waited a couple months and gone straight to ICON instead of running OME for a few years.

Thanks! I like them and am happy with the setup. To be honest though, I don't have anything to compare it to other than stock, so I couldn't tell you what I've experienced versus another setup. Like Spithead051 said, I wanted to just do it once and have it be "good enough". As a previous Jeep guy, I've seen/read enough about folks who go the most inexpensive route (not that anything is wrong with that), but then they upgrade later because they want more performance, lift, flex, clearance, etc.

That's great advice. I like the look and performance of my setup (Bilstein 5100s at 1.75 and 5125s with an AAL), it's a great budget lift. Though I want more. Eventually, I'll jump up to Icons, Fox, or Kings.

There is a lot to be said for paying a little more upfront to get what you want.

Hey all, long time no talk. Too busy with work really for forum talk unfortunately. But I just wanted to let you guys know I am selling my Tacoma, and figured I would let you guys have the first chance to snag it. DOUBLLD has seen this personally, and even installed the OME lift on it. Feel free to ping me with any questions. I am pricing this thing to sell. I have to move to a 4-Runner, for the animals. I need the SUV. At least I am staying in the family with the "body on frame" aspect of the Tacoma! ;) More pics to come today.

    Here it is:
2012 Toyota Tacoma TRD Sport Access Cab V6 - Nautical Blue
26,xxx miles only, one-owner, title in hand, non-smoker, never been in an accident (clean carfax)
Automatic, 4x4, all options except GPS head unit and rear bumper parking sensors (I believe I have all other options)
Sirius/XM radio, backup camera, AC, sliding rear window
Full towing package with bigger battery (never used the hitch...lol...go figure)

The aftermarket goodies (not parting out yet....)
TRD Supercharger (installed by Toyota, keeps all factory warranties and adds 70hp)
Old Man Emu 3-inch lift (Darkar leaf springs, Coilovers, rear shocks - full kit, installed by DOUBLLD)
TRD Bronze beadlock style wheels with BF Goodrich All-Terrain tires with lots of tread left, and two wheel locks per wheel
TYC Headlights, blacked out, HID Murimoto bi-xenon kit with white LED halos (all work done by Black Flame Customs)
    Magnaflow Exhaust
Extang Hard Tri-fold bed cover, Toyota Bed Divider, Swing box toolbox on side (bed with rails and plastic flooring - Toyota TRD standard)
Tailgate locking clip and locking tailgate handle with key
LED black housing taillights (Spyder) and black matching LED third brake light
SockMonkey TRD style Zombie Response Unit bed decals (can easily be pulled off)
    Toyota tube steps
20% tinted windows with Weathertech rain guards
    Upgraded interior speakers
Bull bar with two Light Force spotlights with switch in cab (multiple sets of Light Force lenses)
    TRD Gear Shifter upgrade
Half-sized antenna (stock one is way too long)

ALL STOCK PARTS AVAILABLE except exhaust. I am including stock TRD Sport wheels and rubber (perfect backup set already mounted). Only issue is the front coilovers need new coil isolator grommets (rubber ones are chewed up, and I have already purchased new stronger polyurethane ones and will include in sale).

$27,900 obo - priced to sell

I am sure I am missing something, so I will leave room for edits. The car is located in Burke, Virgina (22015).
    Thanks, Wes

Very nice. If you decide to part it out I'd be interested in the headlights if the price is right.
