2016 TRD OR 4x4 DC w/ tow pkg. No regrets; highly recommend. My first Toyota, but I've driven several other Toyota rentals, so I kinda knew what I was getting into. Previous truck was Ram 1500. Pricey I think, but great re-sale, or so I've heard...remains to be seen.

Shopped for Tundra, Ram 1500, F-150 and decided on Taco. No way considered GM/Chevy since they took the bail-out...also a big minus for the Ram. My Taco made in San Antonio. Yes!

What pushed you to the Tacoma? I've been considering the same trucks. Honestly the F150 is way more comfortable and has all the gadgets but the Tacoma is so much cooler. I never go off road but do haul some stuff... Mostly just want to be cool and comfortable.

What do you mean by cooler? Just buy what suits you best and makes sense for you.

I do want to do some off-roading, and a stock Taco TRD OR would be more enjoyable than a full size, I think. Also, Momma can drive the Taco comfortably, but struggled with my full-sized Ram. I plan to tow a small travel trailer, thus the tow package. I also like the fuel economy and I'm banking on Toyota quality / longevity...and yes, it's cooler! :)

Traded the 2015 TRD Pro 6spd Supercharged on a PowerWagon and could not be happier. My 2011 Tacoma with the TX Baja package (Added by me) is still treating me great. My 1985 Toyota never skips a beat.
    Welcome tothe forum!

Yes i think the Tacoma looks cooler.

I personally don't use the phrase much because it implies that i give a shit what other people think is cool. Personally i go for exactly what I want, and think is the best fit for me with no regard to being cool. Haha.

You will be happy with the Taco!

Not sure where to post this, but does anybody know if there is an option to enable the reverse camera to curve the reverse lines based on how turned your wheels are? A lot of cars have this, but it seems like the '16 Tacoma only has straight lines.

Not to my knowledge, that requires electronic steering which our trucks do not have.

It does not require electric steering. Our trucks still have a sensor that measures the angle of the steering column. It needs that for the stability control system. But it seems to not be possible on these trucks.

does the AC drain mod count?
My 2016 TRD Sport ACLBMT is my first tacoma and I couldnt be any happier. I'm a manual driver and the transmission on the 16 is smooth as butter compared to the 15, not to mention the stock shifter is much sexier on the 16. Tested her out in some snowy parking lots the other day and was blown away by the stability/traction control. Then when it came time to turn off all the nanny features the truck tore it up. Now im dying for some performance upgrades to roll out.

Anyone know when TRD or other manufacturers might roll out a supercharger for the 16 or what kind of gains the 16 is getting out of ECU upgrades?
