Would anyone know if a bed shell for a long bed 2nd generation, would fit the long bed of a 3rd generation?

It will not fit. For one the 3rd gen bed is taller.

Just installed a Snugtop Xtra Vision on my new Tacoma. First off, I want to say a good word for the folks who installed it. Valley Camper Sales in Escondido CA were fantastic. The service was so good. I'm really pleased with the shell. A few pics...

That one looks so good, you're making me second guess myself. Just ordered my Rebel today. NICE truck.

Thanks for the compliment. I had originally ordered the Rebel, then changed it. I wanted maximum visibility. Is it worth the extra cash??? Maybe not great value there, but its what I decided. The Rebel is no joke - its solid - so if you stick with it I think you'll be fine.

Thule rails were $313.20 extra when I ordered my Leer 180 last Saturday. I got the rails, the headliner in black, and a removable front sliding window. Total was $2,670.34 but they were having a special and the headliner and window were included free. I can't wait for it to arrive in 4 to 8 weeks.

Do you mind saying what you paid for yours?
That's exactly what I want... Short bed, mid-rise, liner, sliding windoors, rack rails, removable front window (looks like yours is, but can't quite tell).

How tight was it sleeping diagonally? You should have room to spare at either end, right?

It was just shy of $3000 with all those options. Plus a fishing rod rack and two LED light bars. Not cheap, but I am happy with it.

You sort of have to try it to find out. If you are the kind of person who can fall asleep on the couch, you'll be fine. If you need a king size mattress, maybe not. I use a big pillow at the top corner to get my head up a bit.

There is not much extra room at head and feet, (I'm 5'11") but lots of space at opposite corners for lite gear, a bag, extra blanket, etc.

I was inspired to try it by a post here on TW where the guy said he and his girlfriend slept all summer in a DCSB Leer 180. Wish I could find thread.

Definitely not something I wanna do permanently, but, compared to some tent camping on a slope over gravel in the rain, it's quite nice.

I've got one night logged of sleeping diagonally in a 5' bed. Didn't feel crunched at all. Considering giving it a go with my 5 year old as well soon, would be nice to know that I don't need to pitch a tent with the bugger in tow. We'll see.

My dealer broke down the pricing on the receipt:

    Leer 100XR (long bed): $1,595
Front sliding window (not tilt down): $75
Pet Screens on side sliding windows: $80
    Thule tracks only: $225
12 volt gas prop switch: $45
    Carpeted headliner: $125
    Keyless remote: $115
    Cap power accessory install: $40

I printed the coupon from the Leer website and got the headliner for free.

Hi TacomaWorld. First post/comment. Just got a '16 Tacoma in Inferno and need to get a cap. After seeing the pictures of the color matched caps, I'm not sure I want to go that route. I'm thinking of getting a black one instead. Thoughts? Has anyone seen that color combo in the wild? Pic of my truck attached.

I've personally always loved the red black combination. Inferno black? You bet!
I was contemplating two tone for my white truck. Didn't.
    Allow me to encourage you!

I'm in the same boat as tacovt. I'm thinking the black may give it a more overland look???? Maybe someone with some "mad photoshop skills" could help us out?
