I haven't posted here since my old man and I bought this, but on Friday (April 1st) Coming home from helping a friend do a bathroom remodeling project, some idiot ran a red and I T-boned him (I'm ok). He freaked out and fled the scene (I think especially after he heard me calling the cops) and left his two buddies there. One walked off holding his arm and yelling about going to his cousins house, and the other was bleeding pretty bad but declined an ambulance and had his cousin pick him up to take him to the hospital. I got his plate, and his buddy (bleeding guy) left me his name and address. I forgot to ask him for the driver's name (too much going on at once). We'll see how insurance goes...

07 DC LB TRD Sport with 72,xxx miles.

I'm hoping it's totaled so I can move on to a 3rd gen. My father and I love this thing but it'll never be the same ever again. If its not totaled, may probably want claim depreciation and trade it in anyways. :(

EDIT: Yes, I drove it home like this. Lol. Luckily wasnt too far from home.

UPDATE: Truck is totaled. $18k payout + $1065 tax reimbursement. @72,xxx miles. Looks like 3rd gen is in the sights.

Hope the redlight runner gets charged with hit & run / leaving the scene of an accident, and has insurance to cover your loss.

whoa, damn dude...glad no one was seriously hurt (so it sounds).

I'm surprised the airbags didn't go off, or am I just blind?

What a dumbass the other driver was, thinking he could get away with it especially while leaving his friends behind, lol. Some people...

Here in LA, idiots run red lights like it's a normal thing to do. I always wait a second or two when a light turns green for this exact reason, it's a sad state of affairs :(

Hope it all gets sorted out alright

He had no insurance, but the local PD did trace the plate back and it matches description. Hopefully they can find it/him.

From my visual inspection, Radiator is sitting pretty much on the motor, it still starts, and rad didnt crack, my doors are binding though, (could barely get out, had to force door open.)

If the radiator didn't crack, what is that fluid on the ground?

I didn't notice the airbags when I first posted. I think a rule of thumb (obvious cases when this isn't true) is airbags deployed = totaled. Since you could drive it home I'd think it's not but then again depends on how much they quote to fix vs. how much the truck is worth.

Hope it all works out for you!

Doors binding most likely due to the fenders being pushed back. Again, I'm not trying to be Debbie downer, (and I'd hope it was totaled if mine as well as for you). But I've argued/fought with those insurance guys on more than a few occasions. Who is your carrier?

I'm almost positive that (at least in California) if the airbags deploy, a vehicle automatically earns itself a salvage title if it's repaired....so yeah, airbags = totaled, at least here.
