Does any one else have a clunck or thud type of sound when engaging the clutch? It's almost like there is some sort of bind going on. If I'm in a parking lot in first gear (slowly >2500rpm) and I push in the clutch I get the this sound. It sounds horrible from inside and out of the truck. Is this normal or do I have to adjust the way I operate the clutch?

Edit: this also happens when I'm accelerating and shift from first to second. Also to clarify, its when the clutch is pushed in and disengages from a gear. In gear it is ok.

Have you had the truck long? Sounds like you just need to adjust your footwork a little. When I got my 2015, I could not make an aggressive 1-2 gear change without it sounding like the driveline was about to explode. Same with my 2003 when I first got it. My guess is that your footwork is just slightly off and needs to adjust to your truck.

    ^^ This.
As you get better, the noise will all but go away!

What I still find difficult to be smooth with at times though, is downshifting at speed to accelerate. The throttle response programming on the 3.5 makes it harder to rev match quickly, IMO.

Anyone having issues with the clutch sticking to the floor for an extra second when shifting at high RPMs? Obviously I'm not shifting at 5k and 6k all the time, but if I do push closer to redline it seems like the clutch sticks longer then when shifting at a normal shift point. Anyone else?

I've never really pushed my truck that hard, I'll try it tonight and get back to you. I know a lot of people including myself were having issues with the clutch sticking when it was insanely cold out.

Yeah, all the threads I've been reading on the 3rd gens state the new trans will adjust to how you drive. That it's a better driving experience the more miles you put on the truck

I ran it to 5k a couple times and I didn't experience any clutch stickiness, if I remember I'll run it again tomorrow.

My truck lives in the 5k-redline area(rev limiter works)..I haven't noticed the clutch sticking or responding slower.

Traded the 2015 TRD Pro 6spd Supercharged on a PowerWagon and could not be happier. My 2011 Tacoma with the TX Baja package (Added by me) is still treating me great. My 1985 Toyota never skips a beat.
The new 6sspd and baby 6 really made an improvement on gas!

Thats sweet. I would love to say i got those numbers but I love the gearing and powa for towing in the 6spd with supercharged 4.0.

In my 2013 6spd i had that problem, it would get stuck, i assumed it was hot back then becausr the first time i was in the mountains hauling ass with a trailer. I thought it was gonna grenade, that was early in its life I drove another 20k without issues.

No idea what it actually was. In my 2015 the 5th gear has been grining and sometimes wont in at all for almost 8k miles, toyota hasn't fixed it yet. But its never had othr problems and until about 6-7k it was butter smooth. Still butter smooth in the other gears. I was on a road trip the first time it happened. with an empty trailer it was 5th cruising cause i get decent gas at 1 to 1 and go back on the highway wouldn't go into 5th.

That might be something with the technology package or Limited, but my non-tech OR does not have that feature.
