Really hoping there is no cell service. Something refreshing to me about not being able to use your phone. No distractions and it also makes campfire chat much more engaged.

A guy at work told me he was going on vacation next week but I can call him if I have any questions. I told him if he has cell reception it's not a real vacation.

I know I said I wanted a cheap tent, but I just came across this today. Looks pretty neat for $150. Any thoughts? It allows you to be sealed up in your camper shell with the tailgate down. It would be nice for me since I'm over a foot taller than my bed is long with the gate closed.

Just look at the build thread
I wouldn't want to unload my bed every night.

I looked at these a long time ago. I really thought this was an assume idea at first. Still probably would be in some situations. I keep a lot of junk in the bed of my truck, so like everyone else said, I didn't want to unload my bed all the time. I also keep a winch in the back. With my luck it would walk off during the night.

True, but I'd really only need to unload half of the bed

Actually, for $150 I think I would rather buy a Viair 300p tire pump. I would probably use that more often than a camper topper tent anyway

    Unfortunately....
I have to withdraw from this trip. So if anyone is on the fence, take my spot. I will be driving out to Oregon again near the beginning of May. Sorry guys. I was really looking forward to this but other needs and things have arisen. Hope y'all have a heck of a time though.

I give you full lurking privileges. That sucks though. Maybe we can turn this into a yearly trip and you can come next time!
