Likely igniter (magneto) was what was wrong with mine ( same mower)
Though being 2stroke they may have been run without oil in gas 24:1 ratio If I remember right if that's the case well,maybe, maybe not
Mine is pretty much toast now anyway, governor spring broke and it over revved then over heated then died 97 cent spring, $8 shipping it's 16yrs old and I'm tired of fixing it (every fucking year it is something)

 

The bottom of my rocker switch doesn't light up anymore. The only light is at the top when it is engaged now. I checked all the wires on the back and they are all snug. What gives?

 

Trace the wire going back to wherever you tied it into your dash lights and check that connection. That's assuming your lower is independent ie on when your dash lights on

 

Even better, leaf stuck in carb... Needs air filter and box. The second one (self propelled) needs some more tinkering. Gotta check for spark and run some new gas through it. First batch of new gas went on the ground because I forgot to hook up the fuel line after I put the new pull cord on it..I should probably pull the carb off and pour out the shit in the bowl

Did we ever light the bottom of it? That's the one I usually tie to the dash lights, and we didn't do that on yours.

 

Yeah we did, or at least I thought you did. It worked for a while, now it doesn't.

 

maybe we did.. Does the bar work when turned on? What about your dash lights, scroll that knob to turn them all the way bright.

 

Everything else works. Dash lights...check...light bar...check...top light of the rocker switch...check (when the light bar is on).

 

Sounds like the wire just got pulled out of the connector that we tied into the dash lights

 

I'll check it out when I run my next harness through

 

Haha see my post above....or the rare chance the little led went out behind the switch. Never had that happen before

Just pulled it out and traced the wires and they all look to be connected into that little blue thing that the rest of the dash goes to. I'll have to test another rocker on it when I get it I guess to see if it's the bulb or not. Seems like an odd thing to go out

I wanna see the majority of this bunch when I go to URE, can I get a date everyone is happy with. I'll just take a vacation day so I won't get roped into work. I'd like to meet everyone and at the very least drink a beer.

Wheeling is just a thing, but meeting people that love a good truck is awesome.

 

What you talking about, I can change my muffler bearings in less than 1 hour so there!
