Tellico NC trails ????

Any body got alot of experience in Tellico, I am thinking of going this weekend to intro the wifey to trailriding, will my stock 4x4 taco be able to negotiate the trails there???

 

I did qite well in my Stocko Taco up at Rausch Creek. Even did a good blue trail with some built up 2nd gens.

 

Are the trails open? I heard a while back that everything was closing.

I've been to Tellico three times over the years in a built jeep. The trails change (get worse) a lot from year to year. There's not many trails for stockers and beginners.

From what I remember, trail 1 & 4 are the only true EASY trails. Everything else, you'd be lucky to get through with 33's and atleast one locker.
If you go there....DO NOT go alone!!! Have another vehicle with you!!! Those trails are not for the faint at heart nor the un-prepared.

Have you looked into other offroad parks down that area? THere's a couple of 'em....Search google...

Do some more research and check out some local Tennesse clubs. You're far better off going out with a club who has experience and knows the trails.

There were some pics floating around showing parts being paved and graded. With my Jeep in a prior life we went there frequently, that was a beautiful place with something for every skill level.

 

Yep it's BS but in defense of the forest service we have had a lot of rain this year so erosion is horrible but they could open up other trail's or fire road's but we have an over abundance of envirementalist's here in WNC so I doubt that will happen wish they would go to back out west and try to save some venomus reptiles.

Yup, Go visit Hot Springs in Madison County. Hell, even Asheville. Then the reasoning for all of this environmental hoopla will make perfect sense.

 

Yep cant ride any where off road around here but you can out west every where.

 

It's only going to get worse in Asheville. Two people who are very pro-environmental were elected.

I forgot Instead of going to tellico you can go to coal sumthing in east tn near knoxville shouldn't take long to get there it's all interstate instead of highway 64 it take's me 1 /1/2 hour's to get to tellico and 2 to knoxville so and what I've herd from friend's that atv it's kick ass wheeling.

Yeah, it is pretty bad there. And downtown at Prichard park is usually a cess pool. Stinky hippies.

15 miles north of Knoxville TN

 

Oliver Springs is the exact city, right outside oak ridge. I take the ATV's every once in awhile. Its awesome up there.

 

There's a local group probably going to Gulches in the next couple months, haven't nailed down a date yet. Uwharrie is your best bet but they aren't open til April. Anything else will be at least a weekend trip.

If you really get the urge you can hit some 2 tracks on base. Just stay out of the mud. If you get stuck PM me.
