Here's a general idea of the yard there's still the sides which are large not pictured, but step one was the patio and concrete that just go finished a few weeks ago so now I can clean up and relevel some of the dirt to start:

In the middle of summer it gets about 4-5 hrs, 1000-1500. The little side part gets only an hour or so, we have it blocked off for the dog, her doggie door goes out to it. Haven't had an issue with her going out at all.

I treat it like I use to treat a brick patio. Soak it early and heavy and then just spray it down right before people come over. The kids have only complained once or twice in the last few years about it being to hot to play on. Give them a hose to play with and they are happy.

Cleaning up after the dog is super easy, and if she "digs" at an area, I just go back and re nail it into place.

We saved a lot of money on the install by getting a few "workers" from Home Depot and clearing down the 4" they need to do the install. It isn't the same feel as real grass, but it isn't bad.

One more thing, a couple of places told us the life expectancy of the grass was double what every the warranty was. That might help in deciding on which product to get, pay a little extra and get an extra 6 years out of it.

Nice yard, that WOULD be expensive to fake grass. Mine was just under $2k, with a 10 year warranty. You have the room to move a lawn mower around in, something I didn't really have, limiting my options. Maybe do mostly rocks with a small patch of fake grass.

Thanks yah I have a lot of planning to figure out before wasting money, and a lot to fix, like I said the start was the patio for shade for the house and to help rpotsxt patio furniture from the sun we lost 2 chaise lounge cushions in 1 years time to the sun, just had to spend $150 to replace them so I'd prefer the other 30 cushions we have for different things not to get destroyed anymore.

I don't mean to kill the mood in here today, but I would like to take this time to remind all of my fellow off road enthusiasts to please buckle up while off roading.

My cousin Zack Geise passes away yesterday in off roading accident just outside of Prescott. He rolled his jeep and due the fact he was not wearing a seat belt he sustain life ending injuries.

This is horrible but also avoidable. Please be safe.

1459802423994.jpg Try this stuff for the weeds or any other Monterey product. I'm on an acre of all desert landscaping and it's kept everything down for a couple years now. It's the closest I've found to a commercial grade product. Little pricey but I swear by it. Our rental house was overgrown with crab grass and it was the only thing that would kill it and keep it away for a decent period of time.

Sorry for your loss. This hits home a bit. My grandfather passed a week and a half ago from unavoidable circumstances. Thoughts and prayers to you and yours. And a damn good reminder to be safe out there. My buddy rolled his samuri a couple months ago and was not wearing his seatbelt, he was very lucky to avoid injury. Things like this can happen in an instant and without warning. Better to be safe than sorry.

Yup, numerous stories out there of goofing off on easy stuff and shit happens.

I could do more, but I've never moved mine without the lap belt latched, never got out of slow gears without all 5 points, never hit an obstacle without all 5 points. Helmet is waiting for it to run again.

Spring over, 3~", can get different shackles to change that also. H70 would prolly work better if you plan on driving around all expo'd out all the time.
