My commute kills my mileage. I drive 7 miles and it is 35 mph with frequent radar. I have 16 traffic lights, 4 stop signs and a secured gated entry. I average 17 mpg. There is an interstate route but under heavy construction. Have not had a road trip yet but taking one very soon. I will happily take 17 compared to the 13.5 my 2014 F150 supercab V8 rwd gave me.

My dealership let me use a personal check for down payment. Kicker is that I forgot my checkbook when I went to pick it up. They let me drive it off with a handshake promise that I would bring the check in the next day. I guess things are a little bit different up here in the AK.

Same for me. I wasn't intending on buying the day that I did, so I didn't have my check book or the title to my other car. They let my drive off on a Saturday with the Tacoma without paying a dime, and then I came back the following Monday with my title and wrote them a personal check. I personally couldn't believe they let me do it!

Should have flown to AK - could have saved myself a whole bunch of headaches.

This is the same dealership that told me they had what I wanted when I called up. Showed up in person and they tried to sell me a 4Runner Trail they had on the lot. Reiterated the exact model and options I was looking for - they didn't return my calls/emails for 2 weeks. Then when I came back in person he just happened to find the truck I was looking for with a build date of 3/21. I put $3k down in cash. A week later one of the sales guys calls and asks if I'd be okay with a "new" truck of the same spec with 300mi on the odometer for the same price. Told him the obvious answer. Then got a call a month later from another sales guy saying "I see you were interested in buying a Tacoma - are you still in the market for one? Do you want to come in and talk about options?" Politely told him that they should have a record of a signed P&S and $3k deposit and to pull their collective heads out of their asses.

Then with this whole cashier's check thing, the finance manager tried to get me to agree to alternate financing through the dealer on the spot so I could leave with the truck that day. I asked them who was going to be responsible for telling Chase that the loan I had already closed on would need to be cancelled - he shrugged and told me to rip up the cashiers check. Idiots.

Ordering the Texas Edition caused me to wait an extra month almost before it arrived but glad I did.

Truck is in the shop again for tranny issues and rebooting radio when raining. I have two or more cases open now and the service manager just bought one and is having the same issues plus the howling sound. Said he will be following my case personally. They asked to keep it overnight again.

Yes, Texas Edition gets extra chrome, floormats, nerf bars in chrome, emblems and plaques.Cost over 2k for the package, not really worth it for what you get.I would have preferred a few engine mods if they would offer it.

Herb chambers and Boch Toyota are the biggest A holes to deal with. Atlantic Toyota in Lynn has 5 sports on their lot. Call John. Tell him your situation with Herb Chambers. Maybe they can help you out. Maybe not.

Appreciate it - but they've got my trade-in, my new truck, it's paid for, title is signed over, registration is transferred, just waiting for that cashier's check to clear. No backing out now. Originally went to Expressway Toyota, but they never returned my calls. Will check out Atlantic Toyota for service, as I'm definitely never setting foot in Herb Chambers again.

Idiots? Ahhh Yep! I think I would of long ago demanded my deposit back and walked. There has to be more then one Toyota dealer in Boston, no?

Ordered my truck and plunked down $500 with credit card over the phone to get the ball rolling. When the truck came in I trade my old beater Nissan Frontier and wrote the dealer a personal check for some 28K plus change and drove away with my new SR5 4x4 Access Cab.

I just installed the Truxedo Truxport. $290 installed, from Trick Trucks. They were booked a week out, so I installed it myself. First time doing this but only took me about 45 min.

Thats similar to my daily commute to work which is 2.2 miles there and back however in that distance I hit 6 stop signs/stoplights.
