Smashed bumper now what

So my wife was rushing to the grocery store and she ran into the front of my truck. I guess this just means I'm getting a new sick bumper. How can I collect from insurance to buy what I want?

Well, by her making the insurance claim, your rates will likely go up. That will eat up any $$ you would have put towards a "sick" new bumper. Just save your own $$ and buy it outright, saving your rates from increasing.

Join the club with me looking for someone selling their OEM , ive seen quite a few on her but all were to far from me. Check Craigslist and search the forsale forum on here. People that buy after market bumpers on here often part with the OEM ones relativly cheap

 

Just file a claim, get the estimate, and if it's the amount you want to get a bumper you like, just have them cut you a check instead of going to a body shop. Done and done.

 

Search craigslist like someone mentioned above. Just sold mine for $100

When they cut you a check, that's it. Done. If you have the work done at a shop, if it goes over the estimated value to fix it back to normal, they'll adjust it and pay more. When you take a check, it's a one time deal. So, if they estimate is about a grand or more (very possible) then you're in business and could get an aftermarket bumper if that's your style.
