More shit then I ever planned on doing
My thoughts are either you are fool for not checking your oil on a regular basis or your driving a vehicle that's burning oil so bad it shouldn't be out there to begin with. Just saying.

Yeah, or at the very least keep a bunch of oil with you if you know shit is old/going bad like that. Which reminds me I should throw a couple quarts of oil in my 'oh shit I need to fix the truck' box

While I was there, we took the train to my home city and we went through Lviv and got to spend the day there. I lived a few hours north of Lviv closer to Rivne in a small city called Kuznetsovsk.
That's awesome. I'm sure you'll have a fun time at the game!

How long are you staying there? If you'll be there through the summer, I suggest visiting the Svityaz'ke Lake.

Totally agree. Never the less it was the situation he was in. Just would like to know if I could have helped.

    ...too much shit to list.
SAE classification for engine and gear oil are different. They are not the same scale. Viscosity of 10w-30 engine oil is roughly 75w gear oil and 10w-40 engine oil is roughly equivalent to 80w gear oil. They biggest difference are the additives. In an absolute bind (like life or death situation), yeah I'd probably dump the gear oil in the engine. But not if my friend was on his way...fuck that. Engine oil is a more universal lubricant rather than gear oil. If you're only carrying one fluid, I would suggest the engine oil. It will work just fine for engines, manual gear boxes, xfer cases, and diffs.

PS and ATF fluid can be used interchangeably in a bind as well.

Brake fluid generally sucks and there's not a lot of substitutes. I always have a small bottle of it in my truck. In a wheeling bind, if you have no choice, you can add water to the braking system. They key is to not get the brakes hot (think just slow speed crawling). Otherwise the water will vaporize leaving air pockets. Or...just ask nicely to everyone else you are wheeling with to steal a little bit of their brake fluid from their reservoirs to get out whatever shitty spot you are in.
