dude that is BS. They could've easily given you a dealer car or a f'ing carolla or something to drive for the week. I wouldn't want to give them any of my money.

 

I don't either. I love my truck. If they wanted a truck with the options and comfort of a $55000 truck, then they should've bought one. I think this is the best value going for midsized trucks and you know they'll hold their resale. I've got better things to do than bitch about about what kind of brakes came on the frickin' thing. Either way when it's time to replace them, they'll get replaced. My truck stops on a dime, so I don't know what the problem could be. Yes, drums are 145 years old, but leaf springs are even older, so run what's proven dependable and easily serviceable.

 

So do Tacoma. 6700 pounds is nothing to sneeze at. I could tow my aluminum enclosed race trailer with the race car in it. I choose not to, but I could.

 

Yeah, I get it, but I've towed 6500 with mine already and the brakes are plenty adequate coming down a 7% grade for 4 miles, just wish they'd have integrated a brake controller into the truck as there is little room for an aftermarket one.

 

Have you got your truck yet? If not have the dealer remove them before you pick your truck up. I did this and I only wished now I would of had him take the folding Munchkin seats out while he was at it. I guess I can pay them to do it if the sight of them continues to bug me.

Understood and agreed. But if you tow the same trailer and you don't mind the expense, the Tekonsha wireless is a nice option. You can stow the controller anywhere you like out of the way when not in use.

 

I'm not sure where people have gotten them from, but I've seen a couple photos on here with them sticking out of the left side little compartment perfectly

 

That's cool, I hadn't even seen those before.

 

I have too, just not sure if I want to give it up just yet as my tactical flashlight and a small box of .22LR fit there just perfectly. Hmm....

Has anyone sound proofed the rear behind the seats? I'm noticing more noise coming from back there, maybe I'm just getting used to it but it sounds louder. Any pics of this would be great! Also which sound deadening did you use?

 

Was thinking the same I have an access cab I think its the rear doors

 

I drove a friends Pro 4X Frontier and it has 4 wheel disc brakes. I didn't like it over my Tacoma. Especially once I started getting to descents off-road. I'm not saying it was an excellent choice for Totota to choose drums but at least we got responsive brakes that work doing the fun things.

I also remember seeing someone dynamat the back and seal up the passenger side vent, but having trouble finding the post.

 

Awesome thank you, it seems the vents are a big issue but no one has come forward to say to block them off or not. Going to get some deadening but not sure which just yet.
