    a large number of desert wheelers are using race radios aka HAM radio, so you are likely to find help a bit easier out there with race radio...

    audio clarity is so much better with race radio...

    the couple times we have wheeled with folks running CB, communication when split up or lost was a pain...

    Online you can get one....radio will cost about 150+, antenna about 50. And you have to get a HAM license... Different than CB all together.

    you may be ok with a cb, but it all depends who you are wheeling with...

    if you end up on a run with other trucks running race radios, you will never hear call outs of hazards in the way, and at 40+ mph, it would suck not to know of a rock jutting out to claim a tire, ya know?

    as for where to find a race radio, PM me for some 411...

    couldn't agree more..90% of my usual crew i run with have both CB and 2meter/race radios including myself. hearing the lead person calling out a rough section, rocks or what not is crucial when you're hauling through the desert!!! plus..race 2meter or race radios has UBER amounts of range compared to a CB radio.
