I would definitely put all of your yard shit in that loaner and take some pics. And definitely take it back trashed. LOL

Giving you a wheelbarrow for a loaner vehicle is in poor taste. I'd demand at least a garden tractor with one of those little trailers.

The transmission is a hunk of shit. It is throwing codes and apparently it's a recurring issue with some... They have a whole bunch of troubleshooting to do so we shall see

OP, was there any indication on your instrument cluster that your Taco was throwing codes? My tranny shifts like a wild horse constantly if I try and travel above 70mph. If I drive at 65mph, it rarely shifts, and fuel mileage comes up from 16mpg to 18mpg. I have over 10,000 and will take it in for service soon. I have NO codes showing, just wondering if mine may have problems too.

My truck read trans overtemp on the screen and turned off the engine. That was the culmination of everything. I told them that and they immediately checked everything... Maybe try that at your next service and get it looked at.

Edit: I was on a steep incline and the truck rolled back a few feet when the overtemp occurred... I know they aren't torque monsters but I don't think it should have just rolled back in Drive

^That's not good. Something is probably slipping in the transmission.

I'm no mechanic... Okay maybe I am... But it didn't seem right. And apparently it wasn't. The service guy said it's a trending issue with the new trans... So atleast it sounds like Toyota is becoming aware

Got a call from my service guy, the truck is being finished up. They followed the trans manufacturers troubleshooting tree and came up empty. They are giving me a trans flush per Toyota. So it looks like a little annoyance to have my level checked lol
