Belated photos of the BAMF shock towers and 12" fox's. Used some shrink wrap over the hose clamps to clean up the look.

 

Been hoarding this @Pelfreybilt HC rear for awhile now, it's finally time to lose those bedsides and mount this sexy beast.


One last farewell bling off the stocker.


Measure, measure, and measure again.

And the fun part.

Still need to get my hands on a riveter to install the flip down table but overall I'm super happy with this bumper.

 

I still have to crank up the front CO's but given my free time and the bad tire wear I decided to take her in for an alignment to hold me over.

It's news to me that the rear toe could be changed...

 

Sweet man!! Still waiting on mines! What was your theory on how to cut the bedsides? I've read a few different methods of measure and cutting, but everyone's got a different method.

 

Thanks man! you're gonna love it. Initially I just eye balled it by placing a line of tape roughly in place. Then took a measurement of the trucks rake and went back to my tape line and adjusted it accordingly. That's a crucial step that I've seen overlooked, the rest is pretty darn simple. Leave yourself some wiggle room, you can always go back and trim more if you don't cut enough on the first pass. It's cutting too much on the first pass that gets ya.

 

Dude the rear bumper looks sooooo awesome!!! Wooooooo!!!!

 

1. Looks awesome with that topper (I fapped twice)
2. Did you cut up higher on the bedsides to prevent the bumper from flexing into it and wrinkling the bedsides?
3. Them 35s look like they are going to hit that bumper at stuff.

1. I'm loving this topper, thinking about doing a matte black vinyl wrap to match the rest.
2. I've got about 1/2" of clearance. I'll keep my eye on it, not opposed to chopping more off if needed.
3. ...that's if the Expos will even let that even happen. I wonder if it would help moving the flip kit forward a slot? If not, I'll make more sparks.
She's not fap worthy just yet, too clean for my taste... I like em dirty.

If I had dirty5s, id have no fenders left. That shackle flip is becoming one of my favorite low $ mods that had the most impact on performance.

Still, before you get out on the trail and let the suspension find issues for you, I think you need to find a spot where you can flex and take a looksee.

PS. That Leer has my eye. I love the raised top. Whats the model on it?

 

Fully agree, I've been hunting for a loading dock to check clearance but a slow offroad shakedown would be more ideal. A few inches need to get cut off those fenders before I do anything too crazy.

It's a Leer 180, will be great for camping this year. Headroom ftw.

 

@Evenflow can elaborate more on 35s and a HC rear bumper. I believe he was the 1st I read on here that ran into that issue

 

Huh never heard of tire and high clearance problems.. Also get larger spacers on your rear ASAP so you don't rub the shock.. Mine do currently and hate it

 

Its only a tiny polish at full stuff though

That's how mine is, after one summer one looks like this


Yours is more than you think.. That's a tall area that it's rubbing off, tire is at an angle at full stuff so the taller the area the more it's rubbing

 

I never had a problem with my tires rubbing my high clearance bumper sides because I ordered it from CBi with the sides cut back 2 1/4". My 35's rubbed the hell out of the stock flares...well more like ripped them the fook off the truck. I knew I would be cutting out my fenders by 2" so I ordered the bumper cut back so it would match. In this pic you can see that my flares have a couple inches chopped off and line up with the bumper. My bumper is pushed all the way forward right now but I am about to pull it back about a 1/2" and cut some more out of the flares again. It is way too tight for long term comfort when stuffed..
