I was in a hurry, so all I skipped the back side door windows. Otherwise I did windshield/rear/mirrors/front door windows.

Rain-X makes the glass slippery, so the rain just runs down the surface.
At speed rain will go up the windshield onto the roof.
It is great for mirrors and will reduce condensation (cause it runs off).
My headlights are so yellowed they are worthless, when I get the new ones in, I will rain-x them also.

As it is, my current headlights do a better job illuminating me for oncoming traffic then illuminating my path.
I have been able to get away with it because of my strictly city driving and everything is so lit up.

Yea, winter ruins mine so I replace them every spring. I could see buying $15 blades if they actually needed replaced because of use, but for me, the $7 wipe just as well and last through winter.

Rain-x windshield washer fluid helps a lot too.

Lol exactly, I buy wipers when it rains because mine don't work. It doesn't rain again until the new wipers are worn out, repeat the process lol

    Just my opinion

    http://www.tacomaworld.com/forum/1s...a-today-1st-gen-edition-2906.html#post8689757

I've gone through the gamut of wiper blades. I used to have a Legacy GT and posted on a Legacy forum extensively as well.

I've had many discussions about them. As expected there are many "fanboys" of certain brands or ones that swear that the most expensive are the way to go - because we love spending money on our vehicles.

I've tried everything from Bosch Icons and other insanely priced wiper blades. Here's my opinion:

In Colorado wiper blades don't last longer than 8 months or so. The winters (especially if you drive into the mountains a lot) are harsh on them and the UV intensity in summer kills them. So I opted to try the Goodyear Assurance wiper blades sold at Costco just for economical reasons. They normally cost $7.99 per blade.

These blades perform as well, if not better, than any blade I've ever tried. Including the Bosch Icons, Rain-X, etc. And at $7.99 a pop, I don't feel violated when I replace them once or twice a year.

FWIW: Bosch Icons can suck the sweat off the back of my ball bag.

Once temperatures dipped below 35* I might as well have had granite wiper blades. They were/are utterly useless in freezing temps - which made driving in hellacious winter conditions in the mountains ridiculous.

Lastly, you can upsize the wiper blades over the 17" recommended stock. You can get 19" for the driver's side and 18" for the passenger side. Makes for a larger sweep

I used it on my topper's rear glass. But I won't use it on my windshield anymore.

No matter how well it was applied it tended to haze/streak whenever I had the wipers on a constant low or high frequency.

Hmmm I believe you but I had them on my 04 for 7-8 months and they were great! I experienced freezing temps and through summer and they were great! Idk I will try this though for sure once these wear out! Thanks for the info

These tents are such a great addition. You could basically drop off the grid for months on a few dollars a day.

For what one costs you can just use a tent and stay out for a lot longer, plus you wouldn't have to pack up everytime you move. Though I would've loved one this summer with our road trip cross country.

Ive used the rain x and Bosch ones aswell. Their absolutely garbage and just skipped across windshield on me most of the time and they were even worse in the snow. I tried using the rain-x wiper fluid once and it was horrible aswell. Left oily streaks on the windshield.

If I ever add a whinch I will add a second battery as well. I will have a breaker or fuse on the power to the whinch. I will also have a way to bypass said breaker or fuse if the need should arise. It may be rare but I don't want my truck to go up in flames if the whinch should ever short out. Just my 2¢...

True but then you would have to sleep on the ground with the scorpions and trash cats. Maybe we also need the truck bed trailer idea so we can leave the tent set up.
