Had a little problem with the bed rack sadly, they were gonna put a rubber layer between the rack and the bed sides to close a tiny gap and keep it from rattling when I hit bumps but the rubber was too thin so they had to pull it off and use a thicker portion. It was put on with a cement type glue, so they're letting it dry on the rack. So the CVT actually wont be on until tomorrow afternoon, The anticipation is growing!

 

dude! WTF non of these updates have shown on my feed!!!! That bed rack is sick! I was gunna get something like that but since i was a truck shell later on Im only getting two bars. And how did you get your cvt so dam fast?! are you in the group buy? I wanted the shasta but fuck its expensive, is yours the summit series with stargazer?

 

Hahaha thanks man! And I ordered my CVT on like February 19th and it came in on March 21st! So it was pretty fast! I wasn't in the group buy but I ordered it through a fab shop up here that does a lot of toyota stuff called Green Tree Fabrication. They do like everything on my truck whenever I need something installed. And I was actually originally gonna do the smallest one, the Mt. Bailey but got talked into doing the Shasta. I did a standard Mt. Shasta in the new earth tone green color with the Star Gazer! It goes on tomorrow and I'm super stoked for it! Gonna post a lot of pictures for sure

 

let me know if the star gazer is worth it man! I was going to go with it but figured, hell Im already in a dam roof tent I can be slightly lazy and look out the windows haha. Super jelly haha, I wanted mine before my bday may 19 and thought payments went first week of april but now its the third week they take the money so its not looking too good :/

 

Did you get in on that group buy? Which tent did you go with?! And yeah they're expensive as hell, the tent was like $1600, then $150 shipping, plus the star gazer was $200, and then the anti condensation mat was like $50, and then that bed rack was a pretty penny, but it'll definitely be worth it. I could have put that money towards doing my front end with a Pelfreybilt bumper but figured I'd rather have the tent first. The front bumper is definitely on my list though!

 

Im going with the mt bachelor with annex in olive drab green with the new style anti condensation mat, getting sliders, bed bars, have a ton of electric stuff to do and install along with lights. Basically once Im done with everything that is getting started Im done with my truck for awhile, gotta save money and focus on school this second half. once I get a better job the first two things will be roof rack and swing out rear bumper then a shell and Ill be set!

 

That'll be sick man! I was considering the Bachelor too, but decided on the Shasta because of the extra overhang for the annex room. They're all sick though! They have a new style anti condensation mat? The one they sent me is gray so I'm not sure if it's the new one or not, when I ordered it they just have pictures of the green one on their website. Also if I could go back I woulda gotten a rear swing out but maybe one day if I have some extra cash laying around I'll do it lol

You can see the condensation mat they sent me on the page before this one, sitting on top of a box with a bunch of boxed RTTs around it on a pallet, not sure if that's the new one

I think it is, not 100% sure tho. Get that cvt mounted!!! I wanna see it!
Any plans to make the tent secure with a lock or anything so no one will steal it?

sweet man i look forward to seeing it! Yeah I saw some guy used a eye hole bolt and ran a lock through it to keep it safe.

 

@Shmellmopwho this would be smart for you to do to your bed rack. the legs that come down to the bed for support

 

Pretty cool. Definitely a lot harder to store if you don't want your rack on all the time. But definitely a good idea.
