I have cut out almost every crossmember, removed bed, core support, inner fenders, bobbed and un-dovetailed frame, gutted interior, etc. I think I could get it down to 3500 with a tube chassis pretty easy, our frames are heavy.

This is the most recent pic I have, I'm usually driving and not running a camera!

It's ironic that your build inspired a lot of my own but I've gone in completely the opposite direction. I've added, added and added some more. More like a hybrid between your truck and FJ I guess

I know it was deleted long ago. Talked to a few people about doing is for a SAS swap. I was told to remove the abs module, use a T to connect the remaining lines and if I needed a bigger master cylinder to run a 1 ton T100 MC. I would think a new proportioning valve would be needed but I haven't been told that.

I know I need better pads and shoes desperately

Im just curious if it screws with the soeedometer at all. Or if you have an auto like i di if it would screw with telling the truck when to shift. Would any one want to unplug their abs module plug real fast and drive and see what all it does? I would but i should have done that before i cut the front of the truck off. .....

Eh, it flies good but is largely useless around here. If I had it all to do over again it wouldn't look like this, should have kept the bed, done a simple cab cage, slapped on some 35's and called it good. Trade you straight across for your truck, seriously.

I converted my truck to manual shift T-case and don't have ABS anymore. There is a speed sensor in the T-case on my truck, although I understand they aren't all that way. I also converted to disks in the rear and did install a prop valve. I have maybe one turn on it, it might not be needed for a heavy truck at all.

As much as I love your truck I couldn't do that. This fills my needs too damn well. Not to mention its survived an ex-wife,5 ex girlfriends, 4 jobs in two states, at least a half dozen residences and two dogs. This thing has litterally been the most dependable portion of my adult life. It's mine until some crazy bitch broadsides me and totals it. At which point I may come up on charges for some violent shit.

Thats probably the best compliment the truck has gotten though. Seriously.

I hear ya. Mine has made it through two marriages and a few lady friends, more than a dozen countries, over the Alpenstrasse at -30F to below sea level in death valley at 130F, snowboarding trips and dune trips, many trails, hunting, fishing, and camping trips, and DD duty for ten years. I drove it to work today because she looked lonely in the driveway.

Every time I see that thing I reconsider traveling. How did that beast end up in so many countries/continents? Did you take her with you when you PCSed over seas?

RTTs and water cans don't mean shit, that's "Expo As Fuck" (as they say) right there.

I bought it when I was stationed in Germany and had it shipped over, then spent 4 years driving all over the place. I wheeled some and went on "offroad expeditions" with this group called Buschtaxi, went all over Europe and Scandanavia wheelin' and camping. Good folks, if you make it over there it's worth meeting up with them. http://www.buschtaxi.org/

Adventure can be found anywhere. I've always wanted to do the Trans America Trail, that practically starts in your backyard (just a couple of tanks of fuel away), and ends in mine. Mostly dirt and back roads...

I can get about 3 full weeks off at once right now. More in about a year. Anyone know how long it takes on average to make that trek.

Debating SASing my truck. Not sure how awesome that would be on dirt roads for a couple weeks
